I love my ?nappy? bag, a little sad perhaps, but I am handbag person. (I?m just not a flowers and ?pretty? patterns bag sort of person).

I bought this bag when I was made redundant as I knew it may be the last decent hand bag I would ever buy (for at least a decade anyway, so far I am being proved correct, the credit crunch has hit my industry and I?m a SAHM for the foreseeable).

I?ve even been known to go out minus kids with it, saves me having to transfer all my things to a smaller bag, I just take the nappies out.

If the link won?t work Google happy bags, and if it?s your thing feast your eyes on lots on baby bags.

Anifrangapani · 05/09/2009 17:50

I was classy - Carrier bag from our local supermarket...

isittooearlyforgin · 05/09/2009 17:57

i never got a descent change bag as thought they were too expensive and that's one thing i wish i had spent some money on instead of rubbishy baby products i didn't need or use, as you're using it all the time and its practically part of your outfit!would have been nice to have stylish oe with handy compartments so i could actually find nappy/phone/milk before i went entirely insane! Seen some great ones in the Jojomamanbebe catalogue

nappyaddict · 05/09/2009 18:00

I don't. I have a few really nice big, spacious handbags with lots of zips and pockets.

nappyaddict · 05/09/2009 18:13

I do like the Lin and Leo, Lassig, Storksak and Petit Planet ones though.

Jojay · 05/09/2009 18:17

I recommend you DON'T buy a Babymel one - I did and the quality is rubbish for the money.

missusp · 08/09/2009 12:50

Oh Jojay. My babymel Amanda is 18 months old now - used everyday and can't fault it. And it is abused! - dragged along the pavement, spilt drinks, chewed shoulder straps.

Still surviving

iloveflo · 12/09/2009 23:10

well i have had a few change bags - I am bag mad !
but my fav was the change bag by dwell,
"look at
this page", with big chocolate dot print. Loved it it could also be used as a tote when not attached to the buggy.

bran · 12/09/2009 23:27

I have this Wallaboo bag and I don't like it at all. It's much too bulky and heavy, I hardly ever take it anywhere with me. I don't think you use a bag as much with your second though, I seem have pared the amount of stuff that I carry right down to a minimum.

With DS I had a lovely one that I can't remember the make of, but I gave it away.

fiziwizzle · 21/10/2009 14:25

Thank you for the thread sammysam! What did you go for in the end?

I can't decide whether I need a messenger bag or a backpack - I don't drive so am likely to be walking my changing bag around. Has anyone used a backpack style bag in conjunction with a sling?

LondonDove · 07/11/2009 11:01

Has anyone tried the pacapod bags? www.pacapod.com/ seems expensive but more practical than some others. What do you think?

wanderingclaire · 09/05/2010 22:21

Hi folks!
I was also surprised to see a whole topic on changing bags, but I've found it really useful - thanks!
I don't like the look of any of the changing bags I've seen, and they all cost way more than I'm prepared to spend. I was coming to the conclusion that they're probably all a big rip off anyway, and an excuse to charge twice the price for an ordinary looking bag with the tag "changing bag" on it.
Anyway, it looks like I'm wrong on a few counts, and some changing bags probably are worth what you pay for them - but it's also good to hear from folk who've managed fine with an ordinary bag or rucksack. So I'll probably leave off buying one until I see how I get on with a normal bag.
Thanks all,
Claire
ps First baby due in 10 weeks - can't wait!

omnimandles · 09/05/2010 22:27

I dont understand the changing bag thing at all - I mean what do you need - a couple of nappies, some wipes and a nappy sack - do these items really need their own bag - cant they go under the buggy or in your shopping bag?

Very confusing tbh...

SarahRichardsom · 13/05/2010 14:03

Hi!

I recently had a lovely baby girl. Obviously ladies, we all have a lot of stuff we need to carry around with us, especially while we are pregnant and after we have had our babies.

I tried to look for a bag which was really stylish and modern but was also very very practical. After searching far and wide and came across the miracle bags.

They are stylish, come in three colours and also have loads of compartments for all sorts of things we need. to be honest the bag can be used for anything. It doesn't shout our PREGNANT mum but is just very cool! they are also very strong and I have had mine for a long time and the quality stays the same so it always looks fresh and brand new.

I got mine online at www.themiraclebox.co.uk, they have baby changing bags and also an overnight maternity bag. I have both and the quality and design is amazing! Have a look!

What do you think???

Ryoko · 04/07/2010 17:26

I got this one

Koo-di spotty bag

cost £14 cos I had £10 worth of clubcard points.

it's very good, it's one of the smallest I've seen. Mine has his factor 50 Johnsons cream in it, small bottle, milk for the bottle, pack of tissues, hand gel, muslin square, 3 nappies and some nappy bags in it which it holds no problem , there is still room for more.

ReasonableDoubt · 04/07/2010 17:31

I got a leather satchel from Gap. Changing bags are a bit Stepford for me.

I'm on my second one now. I previously had the Tiny Tillia Tulip bag, which was fantastic. Lots of room & inside pockets, with 4 good size bottle pockets on the outside. However now that my DS is getting older, i wanted something that didn't take up so much room in the bottom of my pushchair, so i've treated myself to the Koto Leatherette bag, which i can carry on my shoulder. It looks like a normal handbag, it's stylish, and it's got plenty of pockets, as well as tonnes of room in the main pocket.

I highly recommend both bags!

Derbygirl3 · 12/06/2011 18:57

Hi I brought this louts flower on at www.tenbagsofsugar.com its got some great pockets in it www.tenbagsofsugar.com/themiraclebag/Baby_Changing_Bag__City_Range___-_Lotus_Flower/MBCLF.aspx

hope that helps

kieracc · 19/07/2011 09:30

I've got a Stoksak Gigi training bag. I thought that if I'm going to have one I want it to be designer so it at least looks nice. This one's practical aswell though with plenty of compartments and an insulated bottle holder.

titferbrains · 18/08/2011 23:43

Miracle bag looks great. Don't care what ppl say about there being a changing bag topic...I love a good bag!

melliebobs · 20/01/2012 17:39

I've got a pink lining one. I was all prepared just to use a rucksack but it was a Xmas present off me mum so can't grumble!

I started off with the free boots one but it's a bit crap. I'm a Radley girl, although I don't like the new logo but found a lovely old style one in their outlet store - absolutely fab - both shoulder strap and buggy clips and it has a zip round to the bottom to extend it if you need to carry extra. Love it. It was my treat - let's face it, it is something you use everyday for years. And it's black (with a blue Radley) so dh doesn't feel out of place with it.
