ok so to kick off-which changing bag do you have and is it any good?

DC2 is due in 6wks and since I never had a changing bag with dd i'm going to treat myself.....
Which ones are good/bad? And why?

As a CM I haave had a variety, but this although it is not a change bag is the best I have had, can fit nappies and wipes for 3 kids in the bottom, First Aid Kit, a fold up change mat, one of these which holds 3 sippy cups (because dosnt matter what cups ypou use, they all leak eventually.

I also have a little waterproof makeupbag which holds, creams nappy bags and anything else needed.

Purse phone and camera fit in the front, and the long strap fits over my M&P Arias handle bar to carry it all.

I have a Storksak and love it. Never had a change bag with first two - the handiest thing is that it has insulated pockets for bottles which is, obviously, handy when formula feeding.

ive seen a lin and leo changing bag that is gorgeous. But a little more than i planned to spend, considering it will likely end up with breast milk in it!!

Due in 10 weeks, so still looking for ideas. Thought mamas and papas bag was naff in shop, and at £50 quality was poor. My sisters ripped and lasted no time.

Anyone seen or recommend any nice handbag looking changing bags, as everyone says your handbag will go once you have a changing bag to carry

I find all changing bags hideous, even the designer ones. I baulked at the idea of needing a "special" bag to carry my DD's spare nappies... I especially, especially, especially hate those "yummy-mummy" ones. Ugh. What woman in her right mind would want to spend so much money on a bag it looks like her granny had patched together?

I use a normal over-the-shoulder large handbag. Suits the purpose very well. Plus it looks nicer, and I'll be using it long after DD is out of the changing bag phase.

ahh but what of us who aren't handbag people?
I didn't have a handbag big enough to carry all ds's stuff, so a new ?ag was in order. so it may as well have been a specially made one you see?

Actually, I just looked at those Allerhand bags, and they do look more like "real" bags, IYSWIM. So you are off the hook!

I think I am unfairly biased against changing bags because of things like this.

I only ever used a normal handbag with my first two but after a cup of water wrecked my Mulberry, I thought it best to get a changing bag! It really has made life easier as I know it's packed and dh doesn't look daft carrying it.

i have an ikea hand luggage bag. it's small, slightly hard case, a bit like a small vanity case. only cost about £5.

I must say I was very surprised to see a whole topic on changing bags but since I need one I thought I may as well make use of it!
I thought I didn't need a propper changing bag with dd but I struggled for 2.5 yrs with various 'normal' bags that never did the job-so this time I'm going to treat myself and at least see if it is better (it can't be worse!) and I can always give it to someone if it is that bad

I remember obsessively cataloguing the relative merits of different changing bags when expecting dd...realise now that they are probably all much more alike than I then thought! But I lurve my bright green Wallaboo.

I got one free with our pram.
Not something to spend a lot of money on I would have thought, but nice to have a waterproof lining and pockets for cups/bottles. Mine was falling apart after the first year or so, but I'd kinda bonded with it. I'm not a handbag person really. I have Jeep courier bag at the moment, but only cos it's what Jack Bauer uses in 24 and I am that sad

I have a skip hop duo and it is fab, the mat is good quality, loads of pockets, it clips to the handle of the pram. Loads of colours too.

I got one from Vertbaudet in the sale with my DS. I think it was about £25 half price. It was large and had an insulated pocket on one side (big enough to put more than one item in) and plenty of different compartments.

I am expecting another and am really thinking I will need a roomy bag this time as DS (2 and a half) is still not potty trained and no doubt will need spare clothes etc even when he is starting potty training! I love the look of the Wallaboo.

I used a cheap big handbag for DS. I had a Babymel Amanda for DD but now expecting again and the Babymel although is still immaculate (impossible but true) I'm bored with it and want a new one.

StrikeUpTheBand I do love my Wallaboo but it's not exactly roomy, I think they do bigger versions but not sure they are in the same fleecy fabric. Mind you it's amazing how much you can cram in and let spill into pushchair fold up small to tuck in snugly.

I have a Ju Ju Be BeRightBack which I love. It's in plain black and silver rather than any strange mumsy fabric, so I feel stylish and smart and my DH will still carry it. It is easy to clean (even machine washes.) It has nice sections which I can put stuff in logically (though my DH claims he can never find anything, I think it's because he can't be bothered to look ) and I don't lose stuff at the bottom but the sections are also big enough to hold plenty of items including stuff for me! It doesn't hurt my back because it's a back pack and not just on one shoulder. I'm actually planning on keeping it for me to use after I no longer need a changing bag (or getting a replacement if it's too tatty ).

With a front carrier and that on my back I'm nicely balanced. I'm not looking forward to "graduating" to a back baby carrier though .

I'll agree about the wallaboo being great. (i had the original style - not so keen on the new ones)
