Carers allowance wait time

Hello, I applied for carers allowance 3 weeks ago. Just wondering how long everyone else had to wait? I know it says 6 weeks but I'm worried it may be longer. Has anyone applied lately and can tell me the time they waited? Thank you

Rgds58 I'm on the same position. Been 18 weeks waiting now. I have raised a formal complaint ( twice, as although requested it wasn't raised) and requested a senior manager call back, takes 72 hours for a call back, so hopefully this happens by Monday. I'm amazed no timeframes. I hope yours gets sorted soon.

Rgds58 update.... I emailed my local MP who contacted carers allowance and it's been agreed today, perhaps ask your MP to chase

I applied for carers allowance in August 2025 and i have been waiting nearly fourteen weeks and still no payment.I have phoned over half a dozen times to be told the claim is with the decision maker and still nothing.they seem to be fobbing me off all the time.
