No worries. Never tried the alert thing before, just saw it on the website.

Is 2000mm waterproof thing really rubbish? I thought we did a bit of checking before we bought our new tent recently, 2000mm seemed pretty run of the mill?

Hi

I thought I would let you all know how our first camping session went!

We went to this site , which was really nice, well I thought it was nice, very good location for Corfe Castle which we went to on the Steam Train.

Only problem was of course that it rained extremley hard, well not too bad in the afternoon while we were out and about, but then it happened at 9.30pm too which was a bit unexpected!

And to camp it off the force of the wind and rain made the tent leak slightly through one of the side panel seams, so however much I think our tent is fab, I will be taking it back to Argos!

So if there is anyone out there with any tent recommedations, please let me know. Thank you!

Hi fairy, thanks for that link am trying to convince dp to go to swanage in the am, was the site on a hill or were there level pitches?? It looks a bit steep in the picture, also was it very busy and did you have plenty of room, it looks quite basic but these are the campsites i like best. Sorry to hear about your tent, hope it hasn't put you off too much!

Hi astonished,

The campsite had slopes, but with plenty of flat areas, lots of room. We estimate that there were about 120 tents there on Friday night, and probably about 90 on Saturday night, this made it about two thirds or so full, there was lots more room, and to be honest we didn't look over the entire site. It was pretty basic, but very clean and tidy, and very nice guy in charge.

You could see and hear the Steam line from the site, as well as see the castle. Really good fun, and on a working farm with cows and tractors etc etc!

Hope you have fun if you do go there, and we would recommend The Greyhound pub in Corfe Castle for a meal, really good and plenty of it for both adults and children, good number of tables inside and plenty outside too.
