So far I've got a new collapsible washing up bowl with handles that I am way too pleased with

Last year we had two new tables with adjustable height. This year I think we may need some new chairs.

So what's on your list for the coming season?

This is our first big year. Camping cupboard. And other stuff I want and do not need....

So not a minimalist.

Oh and a roof box for all the crap ..

Lovemusic33 · 02/02/2020 22:16

A good camp stove.

And other stuff I want and do not need....

Oh I think we definitely need a list Smile

A good camp stove.

Have you got one in mind Lovemusic?

jilted I haven’t got a clue, looking for recommendations, I have a small camper van but cook outside, I bought a double gas stove last year but it isn’t great, for some reason only one ring seems to work at one time, so pretty useless.

Also looking for a good water proof spray for our awning, bought the awning 2nd hand last year and was pretty annoyed that it had a few mould spots and was letting water in.

Would also love some comfortable camping chairs.

AltheaVestr1t · 03/02/2020 08:08

My favourite purchase last year was a collapsible camping toilet...and a roof box to put everything in. Not sure what I will ‘need’ for this year. Possibly a new stove? I am open to suggestions! Grin

AltheaVestr1t · 03/02/2020 08:09

Although, even with the new roof box, I don’t think I can get anything else in the car...

SmellMySmellbow · 03/02/2020 08:10

2 new outwell chairs. The acadia signature lounger. Supremely comfortable.

Lovemusic33 · 03/02/2020 08:22

I would love a roof box to go on my camper but my campers so slow as it is, with a full roof box it might not make it up the hills 😂

Dyrne · 03/02/2020 08:29

Need to get a really decent, comfortable blow up mattress. DP is still maintaining he hates camping so I’m trying to make it as naice as possible!

Will probably also get a decent folding table and a new coolbox to replace the battered cool bag I’ve been nursing along since uni!

Notmyideamovingon · 03/02/2020 08:38

Dyrne you need a move thick double sim. Super comfy. Forget blood up beds.

WhyNotMe40 · 03/02/2020 08:42

We need some collapsible crates so the car can be stacked and unloaded in a semblance of order. And loaded again. We always end up having a row during unloading and loading the car ..
Also some new decent folding chairs as our current ones are about 12 years old and I don't trust the structural integrity of the canvas any more! Grin

WhyNotMe40 · 03/02/2020 08:44

Dyrne have a look at camping fridges! We love ours! DH has also managed to rig a boat solar panel so it can run off that if we don't have hook up (still needs freezer blocks overnight, but it really works so much better than just a cooler bag and for about the same space)

Dyrne · 03/02/2020 13:37

Ooh thanks for the recommendations - off to research!

SW16 · 03/02/2020 22:40

Collapsing washing up bowls with handles are THE BIZ.

I bought one last year.

I really need a new table to replace my ancient ‘roll top’ one.

JustMarriedBecca · 04/02/2020 06:24

This is our first proper year. I want some naice plates.
What's the recommendation for HUGE roofboxes

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 04/02/2020 06:31

We need some new Ordinance Survey maps. My 6yo has decided she needs to climb a mountain on one of our trips this year.

WhyNotMe40 · 04/02/2020 06:55

What's the benefit of collapsible washing up bowls though? We have a standard square one. Teas and coffees and mugs get packed in it so if we didn't have it we'd just neéd another crate

JiltedJohnsJulie · 04/02/2020 15:45

My old washing up bowl wash fine too but I've convinced myself that the one with handles will be far superior Grin

Just bought a new warmer lighter backpacking sleeping bag.

SW16 · 04/02/2020 18:45

The handles are the invaluable bit, leaving one hand to carry other stuff, open the shed door, hold a child’s hand etc.

The collapsible bit suits me because it lays on top of the bigger crate that all our kitchen stuff is packed in.

WhyNotMe40 · 04/02/2020 18:52

SW16 ah ok thanks, yes that makes sense Smile

WhyNotMe40 · 04/02/2020 18:53

Ooh actually I could really do with a new sleeping bag! My current bone is about 25 years old and probably washing/wearing a bit thin 🤣

SW16 · 04/02/2020 19:55

You need a new sleeping bag, WhyNotMe.

I thought I needed a warmer one than my 15 yo much loved bag so upgraded from 2 season to 3. Boiling hot! Then I realised my bag was just old, not cold!

WhyNotMe40 · 04/02/2020 20:02

Yeah I'm always layering up with blankets while the kids are kicking theirs off Grin

FruityWidow · 04/02/2020 20:07

We've bought a tent already this year in the winter sales. It's a smaller and very lightweight backpacking tent than our usual one because we're going abroad by plane this summer. We also need a replacement self inflating mat for dh so we'll be looking for a couple of lightweight versions too.
