I want a really massive tent that will last forever!

We've got 3 kids so I want one that will have 3 bedrooms (one for DH and I, one for DSs and one for DD when the time comes). I would like it to have spacious living area and ideally another area for storing stuff (I went in a tent that had a tunnell type opening and that was good. I want it to be well made and able to withstand fairly harsh weather.

Any ideas?? Are Outwells any good? They seem quite expensive but there were a fair few at the campsite we visited on the weekend.

I went back and bouht the tent. £329 with tent canopy AND windbreak. BARGAIN I think. We worked out we use it 6 times and it costs £55 a time

Just bought the Outwell Montana 12 online for £350!

DH had seen the tent and wanted one like it so bought it because it was on offer and I was beginning to do my own head it looking at all the options, impulse purchaser moi!

We have a Vango Diablo 900 it's fantatic. Loads of space and bug enough not to feel couped up if it's raining! All week.

I know I am late but can I sing the prises of our tent Aztec Cantera 12 near the bottom of the page.
We have just finished our 4th season in this tent. It has survived camping during the spring bank holiday - when it rained solidly for 48 hours. It survived the last two weeks in Norfolk where the wind was very strong with thunderstorms etc.
It has never leaked or blown down.

We LOVE our tent and have had a few short breaks in it and a 10 day and 14 day holiday in it. We look at other tents, but still think we chose the best one for our needs.

We have a Sunncamp Vario 9

It has 4 bedrooms. This year Dh, I and dd slept in 1, on 2 mattresses plus her ready bed. Dsd had a bedroom. The other 2 were used for storing clothes, which we put on one of those plastic greenhouse things, dirty washing and coats, it got named "the dressing room". The 4th room housed all the wetsuits and beach stuff, chairs when not in use. There was enough room to lay out wetties and towels to dry them so it got named "the drying room".

Inside the main living area there was room for:

A cooker on a stand
Table (for plates, cups, kitchen roll, ketchup, etc etc and a preparation area)
Front opening fridge
Barbecue
Toy box
A second plastic greenhouse for storage (books, games, torches, waterproofs, toilet bags)
A table and chairs
A third table (we're not table made, we had visitors so it was used for prepping stuff)
2 sunloungers

In other words LOADS of room.

We had 7 friends visit while we were there and I cooked chilli for them one night and 11 of us sat in our living area to eat.

We have the option to put it up for weekends with just the main body of the tent, which gives 2 bedrooms, or with a throw-over section to give 4 bedrooms.

It withstood gallons of rain and really heavy winds over the Whitsun bank holiday.

We love it.

We've got one of these Actually, its the next size down, but this'll be big enough for your needs. I have only seen a few reviews on them, I think largely because they are only available on Ebay atm, but ours is absolutely briliant. Loads of space, stood up to the rain and very easy to erect. We were pitched next to Outwells on both sides last week and we definately didn't look like the poor relations!

prises - i mean praises

peachy - ...

we love ours but i do need a eye mask on as its very light in the sleeping quarters as not dark enough but i cant complain though!

If it's a lasting 'forever' tent that you want then it has to be a polycotton Norfolk Lake. Gorgeous, totally stable, waterproof, cool in the hot sun, no rustling nylon noise in the breeze, ZIG so easy to clean, green curtains

Yes it was expensive but it is forever - well at least 10 years.
