Lucycat · 11/07/2007 17:00

ooh oooh ooohh which one?

you cannot come on here mmj and tell me you've seen a fab tent and then not tell me which one!

btw I think if you just tell them your address they can check whether you have an up to date card ( I think she says knowing full well that I've done this )

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 11/07/2007 17:06

it was a vango something or other.
very spacious dome tent-one big bedroom so we can all snuggle up together( don't like the idea of kids in a seperate section) and a big 'living area'/porch thng.

OP posts:
filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 11/07/2007 17:13

have you gone all quiet because vango is known among campers for being shitsville and you are off secretly pysl at me??

OP posts:
Peachy · 11/07/2007 17:16

No, we're all jealous instead

Vango v v v good brand

I like the breckenridge and vail meself, but anything by them is goi8ng to be OK- its one of the premium brands that you ust know are OK

Hey luce, great to see the list back LOL! hasnt been out so much this year

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 11/07/2007 17:24

oooh thatis good and reassuring!!!

it was only £90 too which i thought was good.

Peachy · 11/07/2007 17:29

Peachy · 11/07/2007 17:39

pmsl

blue isn't this years colour so it could be alst years stock, would explain price

check the HH and size- if thats OK go for it

Lucycat · 11/07/2007 17:43

It's a Vango venture 500 I betcha - we ahve one as our weekend tent - the sleeping bit is great for 4 airbeds and it's also quite 'long' so you can fit your stuff at your feet!

lol at blue!

glad you liked the list peachy

thought someone else would like the benefit of my retentive packing - how was the weekend away?

Lucycat · 11/07/2007 17:46

this one?

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 11/07/2007 17:49

that's the one!

so good? do you approve?

you say youuse it for weekends-would we be ok with it if we wanted to do a longer trip?

OP posts:
filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 11/07/2007 17:50

what is hh?

OP posts:
Peachy · 11/07/2007 17:51

Well we will never, ever be going back to holmsley! The palce was looked after Ill give it that, but unless concrete and bent pegs is your thang I would skip it

And far from being a family site there was only one other family with kids there! I know its not the hols everywhere yet but there are pre-schoolers about in July! Everyone else seemed around 80 and quite unfriendly.

Plus we booked a premium pitch as the site said you got a picnic table as wella soptional EHU (which we dont use but when we booked were considering)- the pitches ahdnt been akmnged so the tents were sprawled everywhere when we got there, none of the spaces was big enough to pitch our tent and the picnic tables were fictional!. So we ended up apying about £20 or so extra for nowt at all.

And the aldy in reception smoked all over Dh- a little thing In know but he doesnt like it and its supposedly illegal now isnt it?

Peachy · 11/07/2007 17:52

HH is hydrostatic head- waterproof rating

2000 is tolerable, 3000 is fab.

Eurohike (millets) are a bit dodgy on this one- some of their 2 drip tents appear to be 2000HH (imo that is what it seems) but in fact are 1500.

But i've not yet heard of a leaky vango

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 11/07/2007 17:54

it says 2000

OP posts:
Peachy · 11/07/2007 17:55

2000HH will keep you dry I think, wouldn't go for any less

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 11/07/2007 17:56

look at lucycat's link blow and tell me what you think oh camping guru

OP posts:
filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 11/07/2007 18:20
