Cypsella in northern spain. Spent many a happy holiday there. Immaculately clean grounds, showers, washing up areas etc. Lovely little baby baths and scaled down big baths for the under 8s.

Lovely pools with at least two attentive lifeguards on duty at all times.

I will try to find a link to their website with pictures.

Northern spain is good as you can spend two days wending your way down through france. We used to share the driving and get all the way to Lyon on the first night.

Les Ecureuils at St Hillaire de Riez (Vendee) Just got back from there: lovely clean showers, loos, fab baby baths, etc. All cleaned three times a day. Cleaner (a lot) than home, tbh. Lovely pools. Friendly local staff.

NB We went with Eurocamp, who we thought were fab and had better pitches than Keycamp. There were lots of Keycamp complaints about dirty mobile homes and tatty tents. They're all owned by the same people, and we wondered whether Keycamp was in the process of being downgraded a little... All of the Irish campers were livid as after a 24 hour journey they really didn't need mouldy curtains and a filthy fridge.

Yep, I think that it's around there. Although v wet and soggy two weeks, we now realise that it wasn't half as wet and soggy as it was here.

Would be back tomorrow given half a chance.

Why do Eurocamp/KC keep the two brands when they are both at the same sites anyway???

codJane · 08/07/2007 21:48

keycamp is certianly only UKbased and m,ayeb euro si their eurpoean brand?
dunno

Hmmm - that's what we would have thought - but Eurocamp prices were only given in Sterling with little Union flags, and Keycamp ones in all languages, Euros, Sterling etc., with lots of nice Irish, Dutch and German flags. So it would appear not. And the Irish were only Keycamp, not Eurocamp. All a bit strange, as when you cost it all out, they cost the same anyway. (or they did for our holiday, anyway.) Eurocamp goodie bags were deffo more generous this year.

The couriers are all interchangable, too, as Eurocamp staff were drafted in to clean the grotty KC mobile homes when the uprising was at its peak on Sunday.

S'pose the "who gets the decent pitches" thang is down to who was there first when they were separate companies.

PeachesMcLean · 08/07/2007 22:51

If you're looking for an alternative to either Eurocamp or Keycamp, there's VacanSoleil, who I think are a dutch company but have an English website in sterling and an office in Yorkshire. I think they were cheaper than the other two and certainly the second caravan we stayed in, at Parc Albatros in Tuscany, was lovely and as good if not better than the Eurocamp ones at the same site. The only thing that disappointed me was that the other children in the vicinity were therefore Dutch or German so DS didn't strike up any friendships. But the caravan itself was faultless. Less impressed with the San Baronto campsite in Tuscany but the location was good for sight seeing.

Judd · 08/07/2007 22:54

I went to Parc Albatros, Tuscany (with Eurocamp) and thought it was fantastic. Lovely (massive) site, less than 1km to beach, good childrens play area & kids club, best of all was the kids pool - just amazing, it was made of spongy rubber stuff so really safe & non-slip and it was huge.

Were you there this year Peaches?

pootleflump · 09/07/2007 16:55

... and lovely restaurant as well (amazing pizzas).
