I'm getting bogged down with all the internet sites tbh, and I like the idea of going somewhere that's already been road tested Wink

I need somewhere that's not too expensive (we have a big tent, and I notice a lot of places are charging extra for that now) I have an 8, 6 and 2.5 yr old, so secure would be good as would a playground (but not essential as we'll be out and about) I really don't want somewhere with a clubhouse, or other entertainment (tends to equal noisy people late at night ime and we wouldn't use it anyway) Following on from that somewhere that's quite good at enforcing quiet after 10 or 11pm. We're happy just with the usual little shop/loos/hot showers/wash up stuff. Ooh, and we're toying with going electric this year so a hook up point would be good Grin

Thanks in advance!

The \link{http://www.theplassey.co.uk/main.html\Plassey} is great. There is quite a lot of stuff to do on site but its still quiet at night.

peachyClair · 21/05/2006 16:14

Wow, the Plassey looks fab (craft shop with tuition?????? Grin).... have bookmarked for next year!

serenity · 21/05/2006 19:55

The Plessey looks lovely but is a bit too pricey for us (£186 for a week) We really need somewhere basic, but in a nice setting. Thanks anyway Smile

Thats a shame serenity. Its definately worth remembering it, for the future maybe.

They have scrupulously clean toilets as well Smile.

martianbishop just look at \link{http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/14days.asp\this weather!} ok so the few days before these aren't so great i.e.rain, but at least we may see the sun!

Blandmum · 23/05/2006 16:10

From your lips to God's ears!

It can piss down on the monday (if it must ) but as long as we get some sun I will not complain! Grin

we have stayed at the plassey quite a lot and it is great, however fancy a change and wondered whether anyone knows of one just as good elsewhere??

We've just come back from a lovely one on Anglesey, quiet, clean, with indoor and outdoor play areas and a baby/toddler washing area in their "award-winning" loos. The only negative was that the TV room/indoor play area is only open when the shop is, which out of season is only 9-12 and 5-6pm. Plenty for children to do in the surrounding area and can recommend Treath Lligwy beach which is only a 5 minute drive. Wd def go there again. Site was Home Farm, nr Marianglas click here for site .

Re the Forestry one in Beddgelert - we camped here last year for the May bank holiday and although it was a lovely site the Forestry Commission won't divide the site up into pitches you basically camp anywhere and we had a job finding a space. Also my friends we were going with booked a site with an electric hook-up but when they arrived they were given a hardstanding site - they have a tent! - so they had to just turn around and go elsewhere. It was a complete shambles. Which is a shame as the staff were lovely and the site beautiful - just over crowded.

WE tried to book Home Farm for this weekend Kiera but the only pitch they had left was next to the playground so we went to Tyddyn Isaf at Lligwy Bay instead. Was it windy there or is it quite sheltered?

kiera · 10/07/2006 15:35

Our pitch was next to the playground as well but we didn't mind this as it was handy for ds. As we went in term-time it was dead quiet. We had great views in front but had trees behind us so it felt very sheltered, not windy at all.

hth & hope you have a fab weekend! I can recommend Parc Henblas for young children - pricey but worth it. Also Angelsey Sea Zoo.
