Sorry parno, can't help you with this one, but I'm VERY interested in your camp site in the Vendee? I'm looking for one now!

parno · 06/05/2012 22:41

How rude... You give me nothing but want my secret information in return! I have booked a key camp site in jard sur mer. It was about £250 for a week in one of the tents including ferry travel dover to calais.

Sleeping bags (which are lighter and easier to pack than.blankets anyway) Possibly hot water bottles. It can be bloody cold at night. Was it you who I told about Camping du Lac in Landevielle and if so why didn't you go for it Hmm?

parno · 06/05/2012 23:23

Omg. I am moving this over to AIBU. Imagine the outrage at your rudeness, thoughtlessness and down right cheek.

http://www.camping-du-lac-du-jaunay.com/ for future reference

Definitely sleeping bags.

stealthsquiggle · 06/05/2012 23:38

try again

dreamingbohemian · 06/05/2012 23:38

I've been in the Vendee quite a bit in the last year (near the coast), I've found that even on the warmest days it can get quite cool at night.

Can I suggest sleeping bags? 'Tis what I'm going to do BUT I'm also taking along vacuum packed duvet cos I have a wonky thyroid and I'm always cold Grin

ENormaSnob · 07/05/2012 11:28

When I went to the vendee with keycamp they had thick blankets in the tents.

ivykaty44 · 07/05/2012 11:29

I would go for blankets and sleeping bags or two duvets each to make duvet sarnies - June it will still be cool if not cold at night

MsIngaFewmarbles · 07/05/2012 11:30

Could I please ask what the weather would be like in mid-late August? I did start my own thread but nobody replied

ENormaSnob · 07/05/2012 11:35

Inga, I went mid August in 09, it was about 22 to 28 every day. Mainly sunny but a few cloudy days.

Where abouts are you going?

ivykaty44 · 07/05/2012 11:47

mid late August will be warmer than June - as ENorma says between 22-28 most days through into September

MsIngaFewmarbles · 07/05/2012 12:13

Ooooh perfect, lovely and warm but not stifling :) Haven't booked yet but we are thinking one of .the sites near St Julien.

DaisySteiner · 07/05/2012 12:16

Sites get very quiet in late August IME. We quite like it like this, but if you prefer a bit more going on then one of the larger sites might be better.

MsIngaFewmarbles · 07/05/2012 12:20

So maybe a noisier week followed by a quieter one? Sounds perfect to me! I think the sites we've seen are classed by Canvas as medium or large.

parno · 07/05/2012 18:14

Cheers chucks for info. I think I will take vacuum duvets for the dc or possibly sleeping bags. I am so indecisive it is embarrassing (blush)
