Bloody freezing! No rain thankfully so decamping to the IL's was nice and easy, am currently sitting in their living room with the fire burning merrily insufferably hot as per usual

Camping in the Lake District in 2 weeks, fingers crossed for a dramatic upturn in the weather :o

Just back from west of Scotland. Glorious sunshine, sandy beaches, campfire and wind sun burn. But it was bloody cold at night. I fidn't bother to change for bedtime, have worn the same clothes for three days now. Had a brilliant time. Am at home now. Have just put on the heating Grin

We have had a fab time Cornwall.Weather has been fine during the day and cold(but not unbearable at night)There was some really heavy rain in the early hours of this morning but sun was out when we got up.

The site was amazing,D had a great time running around with the farm dogs and being chased by the geese. There were also loads and loads of wild pony's with foals all over the moor.

Saturday night we found a pub with nice food and funny locals to watch the football in and H stopped moaning about electricity (or lack of it) last night when he was eating baked apples stuffed with chocolate raisins cooked on a camp fire.

The other fab thing was that hardly anyone had taken a chance on the weather so our lovely bell tent had a field of it's own

I am so glad we went Smile

Just back from three nights away, an excellent weekend.

It was chilly and damp, but we snuggled up at night with extra duvets and sleeping bags and I can honestly say I didn't feel the cold Smile.

Aboutlastnight firs thing I did as soon as we get thru the door was stick the heating on too!!
Got to -3 where we were on sat night.... brrrrrr..... 2yo ds was toasty with 6, yes 6, layers on, popper vest, plus thermo vest (£1 primark bargain!) plus tshirt, plus sleepsuit, plus fleece sleepsuit plus hoody (which i sneakily put the hood up on after he fell asleep seeing as he refused to wear his hat in bed!) DH said i went over board as the poor child could only waddle rather than walk!!!

Can't wait to go again! just said to dh that i miss the camp fire and suggested we go out in the garden, he's not so keen!!!!! :o

Had 3 nights away. Started to tip down on Friday pm while we were setting up and as the ground was already a bit of a mud bath we were soaked and filthy by the time we'd finished. Then had a power cut for a couple of hours which we could have done without and then realised that The Von Trapp Family Singers were in the next tent Hmm. Saturday was fine and dry as was Sunday but packing up today was a nightmare as it tipped down again and dh and I were pretty grumpy with each other. This was down to the inconsiderate Von Trapp family who were talking really loudly all evening. I had to go out at 12.30 this morning and politely point out to them that some people were trying to get to sleep Angry. Going away again on Saturday so hopefully it will be a better experience Smile

We chickened out and 'camped' in a premier inn. I feel a bit of a wuss, but it was a big relief not to be rushing round on Friday trying to find warm enough bedding etc and cram it all in the car. Not being able to source hot water bottles was the last straw!
