A glass of wine sat around the campfire...

so I am fed up with the rest of MN (this whole mamazon shite really is the ,last straw), so I am assuming that if any of you are trolling you are showing extraordinary persistence by delving into the thrills of iceytec and are worth chatting to.

So anyway, hi, I am SeaShells, I have 2 dc and have been camping and trapsing through the Great Outdoors all my life. I hang out here as my love of camping is more a love of the countryside and life, and you lot have a similar outlook.

I too love the Red Arrows.

But I love wine more.

Anyway you can laugh at me next week. I'm going to Mallorca. Where there is, wait for it, "a 40" chance of precipitation". That was not in the rules when I booked a holiday on the Med, in the sunshine. In JULY!!!!

It had better not be precipitating, I am not lugging macs and shit on an aeroplane when I could be buying duty free gin at 6.30 in the morning......

MisSalLaneous · 18/07/2011 15:03

My favourite sentence:

"I too love the Red Arrows.

But I love wine more."

Grin

Would have sent you good weather vibes, but it seems I lost my touch on those. Should do more good deeds.

I bet you even if it does rain though, it will dry out quickly, so an excuse to go inside for a bite and then return when glorious sunshine back.

Slubberdegullion · 18/07/2011 15:24

I too also love wine more than I love the red arrows.

Mallorca??

Does this mean you are not camping?

A holiday that is not camping based?

I do not understand. You claim to be a camper and are on the campfire/wine thread and yet there is this talk of Mallorca.

Is it for work? If you were going to Mallorca for work or on some sort of aid mission that would be fine and

SeaShellsMyDogSmells · 18/07/2011 15:31

Definitely prefer red wine over the red arrows, especially as the got rained off from Bournemouth air show last year, but we were still stood out in the effing rain as no one told us

MisSalLaneous · 18/07/2011 15:34

You know, Slubber, you're right! Shock However, perhaps it's to go and research Mallorca for future camping purposes, as Europe seems to be so popular this year. maker

MisSalLaneous · 18/07/2011 15:37

No, SeaShells! That's cruel. Perhaps the thing to do is to take wine with us when attempting to view them. That way, depending on how far down the bottle is, should they be cancelled, it might not matter.

notwavingjustironing · 18/07/2011 16:18

Well m'lord, in my defence, I have what is called a husband. He does not DO camping.

He likes a holiday once in a while.

I like lovely sunshine which you blatantly cannot get in Britain so I booked a holiday in a forrin country.

I can assure you that my Company would not countenance me going on a jolly business trip at their expense Wink

No further questions?

Girls, girls!

SeaShellsMyDogSmells · 18/07/2011 19:44

Ladies please!

You will spill my wine Wine, and people are looking

scaryt · 18/07/2011 20:03

Goodness me....I'm not going to have to give the teacher glare am I? Am I?

Forrin sounds marvellous with the grotty weather we are having. DH's parents have a place in Spain which we are forgoing this year for carvanning and camping.

Sal I am shocked at your flimsy attire on such a horrid day. She of the axe thread!

Favourite line - "I am not lugging macs and shit on an aeroplane when I could be buying duty free gin." Grin

Now let's all have some Wine

Slubberdegullion · 18/07/2011 20:15

gin drunk and love restored.

new piccies on my profile of various camping crap including the bivouac stove

lostineurope · 18/07/2011 20:22

Sadly no time to catch up on the thread as the wifi is patchy so a quick, WOW French campsites are awesome, as is the channel tunnel and there us a huge, HUGE decathlon just down the road! I will try and catch up tomorrow. Pastis and cheap rose love to all.

scaryt · 18/07/2011 20:26

oooh bivouac is so...so...compact and neat looking and...compact. Love the heat reflective wind shield. Lovely.

Get you with the handmade bedding. Impressive indeed.

lostineurope · 18/07/2011 20:32

Where did my post go? Bum, can't read the thread as wifi us patchy but French campsites are awesome but not as good as the wine. Chanel Tunnel also v good, still not as good as the wine. Will try and
Catch up tomorrow, now behave the lot of you.

lostineurope · 18/07/2011 20:34

Gah now I've posted twice, never mind < slurps more chilled rose from the chic little campsite bar>

scaryt · 18/07/2011 20:37

Sounds wonderful lost, great to hear your adventure is getting off to a mighty fine start.

cheers Wine

MisSalLaneous · 18/07/2011 20:43

Grin lost, both posted, but love the second one with the emphasis on good wine! Great hearing from you, sounds fab.

scary, yes, I know Blush. I had a blip. Back to being all sensible now. Well, haven't quite purchased a raincoat yet, but will after work tomorrow, so there is hope.

Slubber, I adore your bedding. So happy. No wonder the whole of the campsite wanted to move in. Am currently trying to track down your hometown and then I'll join the queue.

Some of those campsites on the continent sound amazing. I browsed this pm and saw Camping De Roos - how lovely does that look?!

Amapoleon · 18/07/2011 20:50

just creeping in to say hello. I am a regular camper but only in Spain. (passes bottle of vinasol round) Grin

scaryt · 18/07/2011 20:53

My word Sal those tents are stunning, have just had to wipe my drool off the keyboard. I REALLY REALLY WANT ONE.

Having huge canvas lust now.

scaryt · 18/07/2011 20:54

Good to hear the hunt is on for sensible summer outdoor wear Sal. Smile

notwavingjustironing · 18/07/2011 21:13

Losty! Hooray you are safe!

DH ( of the non-camping variety) has just gone out to buy me wine as I have only just come back from a Difficult meeting.

Am going to have my tea now and peruse Slubber's photos.

Throws general love and red arrows around the thread to you lovely lot. Grin

SeaShellsMyDogSmells · 18/07/2011 21:16

Welcome Amapoleon :) help yourself to Wine

MisSalLaneous · 18/07/2011 21:24

Grin scary. Ooh, and yes, those tents. I got a bit overexcited when I saw that you can hire a De Waardt there (ready pitched and equipped) - thought that this was an ideal way to experience one in person before buying one day. Then the reality hit that spending hundreds of my actual (currently non-existent) tent fund just to see how lovely it is, is probably a bit counter productive. Here link with some pics for drooling purposes.

Hello Amapoleon. Thanks for the wine - helped dull the jealousy of regular Spanish camping. Wink
