here

Open the shiny saucepan.

Remove gubbins

The legs go in click click click click

The gas cylinder goes in. Turn and click.

Turn knob. Press knob. Click and whoooooooooooomszsvsvsvsvsvsvsvsv [gas burning noise]

Put handle into saucepan click

And away you go.

The saucepan lid can actually click down onto the pan and is has little sieve holes in so you can drain away freely and casually with one hand and quaff wine with the other.

So big old stove is OUT. stove legs are OUT. Massive gas bottle that is a bastard to pack OUT. Natty bag of multiple self stacking saucepans OUT. Sieve is so out it is not true.

Proper Bivouac Kit Feedback:

Well it worked a treat. On the whole I am very pleased with it.

Despite the whoooooooooooszvszvszvszvsvzsvzsvz sound being really quite ferocious it took longer to boil the water in the saucepan than I anticipated. Maybe it was very cold Welsh water? Pretty sure boiling times are quicker on my two burner stove though.

That was the only slight downside. I think I can make it more efficient with the home made windbreak, when I make it.

Still love the compactness and fitting in the saucepanness, and the click click click click.

After a long walk (funnily enough up Moel Famau) this morning I took it out of the car and had scrambled eggs with frankfurters whipped up in 5 mins for lunch. Very satisfying. Of course you can't pack the burner back in the saucepan when it is full of egg dregs.

Slubber - daft question but do you think it's as easy to use other pans on this as the super-shiny integral saucepan? I'm not sure I can get my head round just taking one pan with us. How would it be with, for instance, a small but perfectly formed frying pan? Looked to me on the demo vid that the pan it comes with (in!) is a perfect fit and clearly that's how it's been designed, but do you reckon I could use other pans too? Without the whole doings toppling over and setting light to the grass, thence to the tent (for we are, of course, cooking a good ten feet away from the canvas, oh yes).

Am dithering about putting it on me Amazon wishlist for my birthday.

Yes can put other things onto it no problems. We took espresso maker and small saucepan to heat milk up in and both worked fine with no toppling.

Oh, DH would be happy about the coffee thing!

But blast it: Amazon don't appear to do the Bivouac with the saucepan, only without. Hmph. It has to be wish-listable, my brother's in America and this is how he buys me stuff, bless him.

I think I may be taking your wise advice and getting these for our tents. Along with this for outdoor BBQ fun/firepit

Blush I found it. It wasn't listed with the other Campingaz stuff for some reason.
