Hi, I have not read all replys but noticed few queries about where stuff goes in a bell tent. We have a 5m bell and camped for most of last summer in her!
Dh, me, dd1(9), ds.(6) and baby 6months then. We have no separate sleeping pod so are all in together. Our previous tent was a tunnel type with separate rooms but as we tended to keep the dc with us anyway it's not a problem.
We have 4 of the low morrocan tables that bell tent uk sell, these are bulky to take but handy.
I have a particular set up that I always do which seems to work. The 2 queen sized double height air beds go along the back side by side, creating a HUGE family bed. We cover with blankets and have 3 extra large sleeping bags too.
We have the coil matting half circle that goes in the front part of the tent, with 2 tables either side.
On one side I set up the small burner for the kettle, with mugs etc and a food box by the side. We also have a radio and cool box plugged in here.
The other side(2 other tables), are for the kids bits, we have a few rugs and cushions, colouring stuff, games etc. The box of clothes goes down one side of the bed and babies pram went down the other.
Outside we have the BBQ, with cover incase it rains and camp table. We only really eat/cook outside I suppose you could do this inside if there was only 1 bed.
A slight negative is that it can be bright in the tent very early, our dc are up early anyway so not a problem for us.
We have the tealight chandelier, bunting, fairy lights and a windmill, what saddos! But people do like to come for a nose which the kids love.
Having been to many fab places with the kids, florida, oz, fiji, all they want to do this year is camp! We all love our Belle, so we are off to the Italian lakes in her, driving there with a few stops on the way and can't wait.
I'd recommend one to anyone, i'm but not sure what we'll do when the kids get bigger as there is not much privacy! My dh has just reminded me that we had pole trouble to begin with, he would recommend an upgraded pole and pegs as our first one snapped in a high wind on the north wales coast.
