Rofl at that stupid marshmallow stick. What a croc of shite. Ten bleeding pounds for two of them. Sheesh.
Lol @ Poledra's pedant rage.

I've been perusing the recipe book and got a few ideas-but I wouldn't attempt a lot of it in my kitchen let alone on a campsite!!

I need to get practicing before our first camp in May :)

Competition? Cooking? Camping? How exciting! Tell me more!

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 22/02/2011 14:02

Cobb 'tis superb :)

ooooooooooooh slub i think i am going to buy the black outwell sims Right Now. (weirdly, one of them will be the ACTUAL ONE that your children were lying on yesterday.)

i must say, the young man who is assisting me is being most helpful and has sent a photo so that i can decide between the little 2.5 or the bigger, cheaper 3cm.

flatmouse · 22/02/2011 14:07

Oh that does look fab. Will have to figure out where in the car i could fit it.... are the briquettes pricey?

Slubber · 22/02/2011 14:09

Oh are you buying them from Casey's?! Thank you for doing that. They are SO helpful there and lovely.

We lay on the display ones only, I hope you are going to get a fresh still packaged one.

Slubber · 22/02/2011 14:10

flat mouse the Cobb stones are quite pricey, about a quid each, but easy to light (ish) and only smoke for a minute or two and then last for probably 3 hours or so. You can just use standard BBQ coals if you want.

AitchTwoOh · 22/02/2011 14:19

i want four and they only have three in stock, so i will be taking the ex-display on if the price is right.
he was v sweet and recommending the 3cm ones, but they look so much bigger in the photo so size is a priority. plus these ones have a non-slip thing going on that i think i will like. i sometimes get a bit seasick sliding all over the place while camping.

Slubber · 22/02/2011 14:21

Yes. I very much liked the idea of the non slip backing, although we tested on carpet tiles so am unable to reassure you of their non slippyness.

Hope you get a good deal.

AitchTwoOh · 22/02/2011 14:26

oh good, glad the idea appealed to you, he seems to imply that it is a bit gimmicky but the idea of sleeping bag not sliding v attractive to me, considering we are basically going to build a nest in there for the four of us.

Slubber · 22/02/2011 14:32

Oh I see you want the non slip bobbles to stop YOU sliding off it, yes that would work too I guess. I was thinking to stop the mats themselves from slipping on the floor. I wrap fleece blankets around the dds (already inside sleeping bags) and tuck them underneath the mats, that reduces them sliding off.

AitchTwoOh · 22/02/2011 14:36

i don't think they'll have room to slide on the floor, tbh, we're basiclly flooring the whole room if this works out. so i had thought a blanket underneath to catch condensation. either way, though, i think it's worth investigating esp as they are so dinky.

Slubber · 22/02/2011 14:49

Dinky they are, with a compression strap too.
