Anyone else with at least 10st to lose?

I'm ashamed to say I'm at my heaviest ever weight of 21st 7lb.
Ideally I want to lose 11 stone.
Now, there are some things that hold me back. I'm on a metric shit ton of medication and I'm in a wheelchair, electric as I'm too weak to push a manual.
It's time I knuckled down and got on with it.
Is anyone else up for joining me?

@Judelawswife68 I'm not disabled, or on medication that causes weight gain and I'm still 10+ stone overweight. Let that blow your tiny little mind.

Not sure if you meant to tag me (did i mention holiday?) but I'll answer anyway!

When I'm with other people I eat quite conservatively. In general my meals at home (or out) are healthy and balanced and I usually cook from scratch, I'm a big fan of batch cooking and freezing. Portion sizes could be smaller, but it really is the secret/boredom/mindless eating where my calorie intake is.

Previously I lost 13 stone. T wasnt even hardcand i never went below 2000 calories a day. I've put 11 of that back on and it is SO much harder this time round, although I'm older, family, more demanding job etc which all contributes

😂 you're right! I even looked back through past comments 🤦‍♀️

PuffingPuffin · 05/08/2023 16:59

Oops pressed send too quickly. Whilst I was away I just ate what i ate. I ate normally. I wasn't hungry, I didn't even seek extra food. I suspect I eat largely for a dopamine hit (certainly with crisps and toast it feels like something within be comes alive and then I just can't stop), so possibly I didn't think about extra food because actually I was having a great time and probably got my dopamine release through laughter!

Yeah pretty much although I don't know if that was standard for them. We largely ate out for lunches and dinners so it was restaurant serving sizes but everyone ate everything, not all had a dessert but most did (I did too). They also had multiple cocktails but I was designated driver so kept to my usual low cal soft drinks, so actually their calorie intake was probably higher than mine. I don't know what their norm is though, a long weekend away obviously isn't truly representative

HerRoyalStressHead · 05/08/2023 21:09

Thank you to everyone being lovely and supportive on here. It was definitely a support thread not an advice thread. I'm sure we're all aware of the eat less move more but there are many barriers to that even if those barriers are "just" difficulty sticking to a diet. (There's no just about it I know how hard it is)

I'm hopeful we can find support and encouragement here.

I'm on holiday at the moment so not posting much. I did check my weight and after one week away I'd only gained half a pound. I had eased up a bit and had an ice cream or two and a few gins but still avoided the treat food. Really pleased and hope the second week away is the same!

I see we've had a tedious troll. I wish I had the time to be overly invested in threads that don't concern me! 🙄

PuffingPuffin · 06/08/2023 11:05

@HerRoyalStressHead how is it going on the Orlistat?

I've managed to lose 1.5lbs this week, more through luck than effort I must admit. Meal planning for next week is one of today's exciting activities.

Hope you have a lovely holiday @Sportycustard 😊

HerRoyalStressHead · 06/08/2023 11:19

I'm really struggling at the minute. The binge eating is getting to me so despite orlistat I'm stuck at 21st 5lb.
But.
I am getting therapy soon for it, as in the next couple of weeks soon, so hopefully it'll start shifting again.

Hope your holiday is a lovely one @Sportycustard

Sorry to hear you're struggling @HerRoyalStressHead fingers crossed for the therapy. It's so hard when there's a psychological involvement to it, it's not like we can go cold turkey is it!

I'm really putting some effort in today. I'm in work today (rather than working from home) which always makes things easier as no free access to snacks!

Breakfast - granola and banana
Lunch - cous cous concoction thing (cous cous, tomatoes, cucumber, beetroot, peppers, peri peri fake chicken stuff and some dressing)
Dinner - lasagne and salad

And hopefully an early night!

HerRoyalStressHead · 07/08/2023 11:18

@PuffingPuffin your cous cous concoction sounds lovely.

I've spoken to the doctor again today. He's suggested instead of eating breakfast, lunch, dinner then snacking all night, to skip breakfast as I'm never that hungry in a morning and save those calories for night time snacking for the time being until I get my therapy. He said it's not ideal but it doesn't matter when the calories are eaten, just that I don't go over them and I remember to take my orlistat.

That sounds like a plan. I know if I'm working a late shift I definitely have to pre plan snacks otherwise it all goes totally wrong and I end up diving head first into the nearest family bag of crisps!

@HerRoyalStressHead feel free to join the thread over in weight loss chat if you'd like. We're on to our 2nd thread now as the first one was full. It's very supportive on there and it's been really handy to keep ourselves accountable

I've gone from 17st 3lbs to 12st 6lbs in the last 2 years and still need at least another 2st as I'm not very tall and I've found it a handy tool, especially at the beginning as alot of the other threads are people wanting to drop 7lbs/1stone rather than multiple stone

Page 24 | 10st plus to lose - part 2 | Mumsnet

A really unimaginative title but the old thread is almost full and we don't want to lose people who have joined us already. Anyone else with a large...
