"There is a big market for bfing porn apparently..."
I think we should get this thread deleted

FrannyandZooey · 04/07/2008 08:20

I think it would be strange NOT to be curious about it, tbh
but I suppose if you find breastfeeding icky then it would be different

Bumperlicious · 04/07/2008 08:32

Or at least make it pay per view Stealth!

"There is a big market for bfing porn apparently..."

Statement of the week!!

pointydog · 04/07/2008 09:08

lol @ andie and sticky face

themildmannneredjanitor · 04/07/2008 09:10

did none of you ever taste it? it is VERY sweet. how do not manage to ever taste it? whenit's leaking all over the place?

pointydog · 04/07/2008 09:13

yes I tasted it.

Bumperlicious · 04/07/2008 09:21

I only ever tasted it by dipping my finger in it once - but then I am a bit squeamish abut milky/creamy stuff. Nothing to do with being squeamish about my own bodily fluids but more about my fussiness!

bythepowerofgreyskull · 04/07/2008 09:23

DH liked it alot..

I think he was a bit sad when it all stopped.

WeeBesom · 04/07/2008 09:25

It's quite common I think, there is a book which talks about it, it's called Fresh Milk. Tbh it grossed me out a bit but each to their own!

PootyApplewater · 04/07/2008 09:29

DH wouldn't taste my BM.
I wanted him to, and even chased him around with a bit on a teaspoon.

Seemed like fun at the time.
Although, in my defence, it was 2am, and I hadn't been out much.

mangolassi · 04/07/2008 09:30

Up to you, if you're not comfortable, don't do it.
Dp actually helped me out once when I was full to bursting and no breast pump, so I suppose I'm the opposite end of the squeamishness spectrum...

sweetkitty · 04/07/2008 09:33

DP's tasted mine as have I, EBM of course, I think you have to taste it to make sure it tastes OK and is the correct temp etc.

It tastes like full fat milk with about 10 teaspoonfuls of sugar added.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 04/07/2008 09:34

As I admitted on SPB's earlier thread, I too can reach my own nipple and get milk out

DH was curious about tasting BM so I hand expressed some into a shot glass for him. He may have also got an inadvertant mouthful during jiggy sessions in the early days... Don't think I would want to have him deliberately go straight to the source tho

VictorianSqualor · 04/07/2008 09:35

I had a thought about this before, if a grown person can manage to get milk out, does that mean if you were in a plane crash with a lactating woman you would all be able to live off her milk?

Brangelina · 04/07/2008 09:39

I used to suck some out when I was too full and DD was sleeping. In the early days I never thought of hand expressing, being inexperienced and all that. My bm tasted quite almondy. I quite liked it actually, but then I'm a fan of marzipan type things.

I've always been able to reach my nipples, it used to be my party trick.

Brangelina · 04/07/2008 09:40

Apparently so VS. There's a bit in a Steinbeck novel where a mother bfeeds a starving old man (I think it was Mice and Men, but can't remember).

I have never understood why men in particular find BM so icky and offensive, surely they have tasted more erm bodily fluids than that. Even saliva will have more bacteria than BM.

VictorianSqualor · 04/07/2008 09:48

I like the way some people find human breast milk icky and offensive, but milk from the breast of a COW is perfect for their tea every morning...

EEC · 04/07/2008 09:58

LOL at this thread! DH does not have a problem with it at all - nor do I - as some have said, there is quite alot of it around, especially when 'jiggy' is involved, and an accidental taste every now and then is OK! I wouldn't want him to actually try and have a drink! but then nor would he...

Now off to shake mental image of drinking from own breast...

FrannyandZooey · 04/07/2008 10:06

this is as far as I know a genuine news story - I certainly remember it being reported at the time:

mum keeps 16 boat people alive

A mum kept fifteen desperate boat people alive for nearly two weeks by breastfeeding them.

Eight men and seven women took turns to sip from Faustina Mercedes?s milk as they drifted helplessly in choppy, shark-infested seas under a blazing sun.

Faustina, 31, who has a year-old daughter, hit on the desperate solution when water ran out as the refugees tried to flee the poverty-stricken Dominican Republic for wealthy Puerto Rico.

She said, "I prayed to God, then told my sister, Elena, to try my milk."

Elena, 24, was immediately revived and fed Faustina by holding the milk in her mouth and giving it back to her in a "kiss".

Faustina said, "We both felt better, so I offered my milk to everyone.

"They took turns to have small sips, just enough to keep their mouths and throats moist.

"I did not know how long my milk would last, but by some miracle it kept on coming."

The friends eventually spotted land and tore planks from the boat to row ashore - only to discover they?d landed back in the Dominican Republic.

The engine had packed up and some could only spit blood once their water ran out after three days.

Roberto Rodriguez said, "We weren?t ashamed to accept Faustina?s gift. She is our Angel of the Sea."
