was just about to post about this - was listening in lab at work but have had to come back into the office, someone please tell me how it goes!

llareggub · 12/06/2008 12:41

Presenter trying very hard to be controversial but failing with the two very sensible pro-breastfeeders.

Don't agree breastfeeding inconvenient though. Far easier for lazy people like me.

All very balanced, generally.

PinkPussyCat · 12/06/2008 12:44

Refreshingly balanced!

PinkPussyCat · 12/06/2008 12:45

Is that it?

harpsichordcarrier · 12/06/2008 12:46

oh my god!

did I just hear a sensible discussion about breadstfeeding?

harpsichordcarrier · 12/06/2008 12:48

v good point that the discussion is all in the wrong place and about the wrong thing
i.e. making bf to be a problem (which it isn't)

whereas the real issue should be about encouraging more women to bf their tiny babies

LittleBella · 12/06/2008 12:50

Wait though, there's time for the nutters to come on...

PinkPussyCat · 12/06/2008 12:51

oh it's back on...

cmotdibbler · 12/06/2008 12:51

Amazing ! JV tried so hard to make it into a problem, and failed. I am in shock

Of course, now we get the comments...

theSuburbanDryad · 12/06/2008 12:51

pmsl - the person who was supposed to come on and be negative about it lost her connection!

theSuburbanDryad · 12/06/2008 12:52

Oh - she's back

cmotdibbler · 12/06/2008 12:53

Ah weaning makes them more independant....

theSuburbanDryad · 12/06/2008 12:54

Bit of course! That's why my ds is so shy and retiring!

llareggub · 12/06/2008 12:56

Whilst she was negative about longer-term breastfeeding at least she wasn't completely anti-breastfeeding.

Really odd view I think regarding dependence. My DS, 20 months, is very independent, and I think it is because he is very secure in our bond. Like the caller we have lots of early morning feeds and cuddles.

PinkPussyCat · 12/06/2008 12:56

Agree with harpsichord that it would be more useful to have a discussion on supporting new mums in feeding their tiny babies.

llareggub · 12/06/2008 12:57

Hurrah for the student midwife!

OP posts:
theSuburbanDryad · 12/06/2008 12:58

v true llareggub. i thought she was going to be more negative! i was killing myself laughing about the bloke who couldn't finish his lunch because a woman was breastfeeding in front of him! diddums...

theSuburbanDryad · 12/06/2008 12:59

i'm going to have to listen again i think - didn't catch the beginning of it

cmotdibbler · 12/06/2008 12:59

Did you all send in comments ?

I'm amazed by people who couldn't eat their lunch because someone breastfed at the next table

theSuburbanDryad · 12/06/2008 12:59

i only just sent a text - i doubt it'll get read out though.
