I really can't seem to keep bfing going, despite killing myself to feed ds in the mornings (or pump if I'm working early), pumping once at work and then killing myself to get home to feed ds in the evenings (or pump if I get home too late) and then doing a dream feed as well my milk supply had dwindled to nothing. The last few days my supply hasn't been enough to satisfy him and I'm getting less and less sleep as I'm trying to fit in more pumping/feeding sessions. For some reason, despite this regime practically killing me I'm desperately sad about the prospect of giving up bfing. It's utterly ridiculous because I've bf for over 8 months now, but I was so determined to get to one year. Please tell me it's all hormonal and the tears will pass.

So, here we have another conundrum, how do you find out the Secret MN Sign!!

Did you see the report I am talking about? How many misconceptions and misleading statements could they fit into a segment? I was staring slack jawed at the screen!!

I didn't see it, I'm in London. I've just watched it, what did you think was misleading?

Oh god, where do I start?? LOL!!

A baby with a duplex kidney does not need to be ff to monitor "ounces", in fact, such babies need to be bf more than a baby with "normal" kidneys as they are more prone to urine/kidney infections and urinary reflux. Formula feeding increases the risk of urine infections, so a baby with a duplex kidney could really use the immunity found in mothers milk.

You can bf and return to work (in most cases!!) so that theory doesn't really hold water all that well.

And one girl talked about how her friends had chosen to ff as it was easier...........head-desk-thud

I am from Liverpool, but live in London now. The report reflects what I have seen there and it made me really sad to see the 48% initiation rate. Breastfeeding is something you just do not see or hear about. I thought the news item was odd too and imagine they had the bfing and ffing mums on in the name of 'balance' and not making women feel guilty. Shame it allowed them to broadcast inaccurate information.
