Come on gals, I love the thought that after they do their negative piece on how breastfeeding after 2 years should "Not Be Allowed"

...they then have to announce that most people disagree!!!

Let's see what the power of mumsnet can do.

isn't voting more than once going to give a dishonest representation of views? It's only about getting people's opinions afterall.
Sod what people think anyway - if someone has a problem then that's their worry.

robinredbreast · 29/01/2008 22:37

63.85%

LyraSilvertongue · 29/01/2008 22:39

I voted once for myself and once on behalf of my boys who weren't bf past age 2 but came close.

onebatmother · 29/01/2008 22:46

Oh in that case I'm going back to vote for every month over 2 my DC's have been bf'd/

verylittlecarrot · 29/01/2008 22:47

If GMTV wanted an honest representation of views they might have considered asking the people about whom the poll concerns...did anyone hear of musnet being approached to participate in the piece BTW?

The very fact that they feel it is appropriate to invite views on something like this is akin to asking the public something like

"do you agree with mixed race marriages?"

I doubt this is an attempt to sympathetically support women's rights to breastfeed - however they like and for as long as they want

They could have chosen a less inflammatory title for the piece tomorrow than "extreme" breastfeeding

I think they have decided already how to "represent" an already biassed viewpoint

I hope the poll results embarrass them for assuming everyone will agree that bf is Wrong

I also voted for my dds (both bfed well past 2) also. They are people with opinions after all, and there is no age limit on the poll.

onebatmother · 29/01/2008 22:51

I was joking!

LyraSilvertongue · 29/01/2008 22:53

I wasn't. I voted on my DC behalf. Why not?

itsahardknocklife · 29/01/2008 22:54

Extreme breastfeeding!!??? OMG - it's a dangerous sport now is it?

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/01/2008 22:57

Have set Sky+ to record it in the morning, as dd will want to watch Cbeebies if the TV is on.

onebatmother · 29/01/2008 23:00

ok just to be absolutely clear, I was joking about being shocked at vote-rigging, I wasn't joking about voting for my DCs.

InTheDollshouse · 29/01/2008 23:00

I just Googled "GMTV breastfeeding poll" - several parenting forums have a working link up on their sites.

melpomene · 29/01/2008 23:01

Not joking either! Nothing to say only adults can vote!

melpomene · 29/01/2008 23:02

up to 65.54% now. Will it pass the 2/3 mark?

pinkspottywellies · 29/01/2008 23:02

I never watch it normally but might try to catch this tomorrow! Does anyone know what time it's on? (I've just looked up on onthebox.com and it looks like news 6-7am, GMTV until 8.35 then the Lorraine Kelly bit. Will it be in the main middle bit?)

MrsEi25 · 29/01/2008 23:04

I should think this thread provides fairly compelling evidence!

Not to mention what I imagine are several replica threads on parenting sites throughout the UK..,.
