Instead of helping people with genuine queries it is fast becoming a soap box ( and i'm on one now!)

I posted a thread and bumped it - and still only got one reply. Others have been in similar situations asking questions about their feeding methods. And yet, when there is something contoversial...such as nursing a 7 yr old ...or bottle vs breast feeding...there are literally hundreds of posts.

I wish these breast feeders would stop fighting their bloody corner all the time and actually help people who need help!

Yes, would that be privilege even?

Blimey

A baying pack!

oliveoil · 14/11/2006 15:29

ahem

not read all of this but I would like to say that when I was breastfeeding I didn't have the sense I was born with (and cried when Asda didn't have the right apples)

so if amijee is dealing with a newborn can we cut her some slack on manners, decorum and general politeness?

I thank you kindly.

Agree with OO. I think she's probably got the "that was a bit rude" message now. Plus she didn't look for "instant" replies - her original post was sunday, and she started this thread today. Also, I think it has been made abundantly clear on more than one bf thread that when training GPs are taught plenty about blood pressure, asthma, heart attacks but not about breast feeding. Making someone feel like they can't ask for advice just because of their profession and "they should know" is pretty off IMO. OO is right, it's hard contemplating return to work. I bfed and went back to work and found it very difficult - I don't let down so expressing wasnt an option. But I got some really good advice on MN that made me feel much more confident.
Maybe we can just lay off now, the point has been made.

hunkermunker · 14/11/2006 15:38

S'what I said, OO, pretty much. Mostly. Well, my last post kinda did.

oliveoil · 14/11/2006 15:38

I am always right

oliveoil · 14/11/2006 15:38

moondog · 14/11/2006 15:45

Twiglett · 14/11/2006 15:45

I see your post has been answered now .. hope you're happier

oliveoil · 14/11/2006 15:46

dd2 used to cry when we walked in, I think she was a snob at 3 weeks and wanted Twatroise instead

TheHighwayCod · 14/11/2006 15:46

"MUMS NET" anoys me

2Happy · 14/11/2006 15:47

I went to supermarket but had no knowledge of what to do with babe-in-car-seat and trolley (never knew there were specific troleys for the purpose). Tried putting car seat in ordinary trolley, ended up jamming car seat back in car, driving home and sobbing to dh "I can't even work out how to do the shopping, I'm so useless!".

usandourlittlexmascracker · 14/11/2006 15:47

I have cried in Asda too My dp asked if I wanted sausages sob sob....
Everything used to seem so hard. What am I saying my ds is 17 weeks and it's still often hard!

CountessDracula · 14/11/2006 15:58

Well you got what you wanted, everyone posting on one of your threads, shame you have only managed two posts on this one yourself!!!

GoingQuietlyMad · 14/11/2006 16:18

I would have agreed with you oliveoil, if it hadn't been for the "you people amaze me" comment.

anyway, it's nice to know that some people are more charitable and less of a grumpy old cow than I am. Takes all sorts

jennster · 14/11/2006 17:41

Yeah but like she said she works long hours. I sympathise with you, Amijee.

dennya · 14/11/2006 18:34

Sorry everyone, but can you explain what 'bump' means. Thanx

ellasmum1 · 14/11/2006 18:43

its just what people write to keep the thread at the top or near the top of the active topics,so people see it! Does that make sense?

WelshBoris · 14/11/2006 18:43

bump

tiktok · 14/11/2006 22:52

amijee - I've been away, and other people who often help with answers may have been away as well.

chipmonkey · 14/11/2006 23:54

Cod, "anoys" annoys me!
