Calling all nighttime feeders!! Let's all keep us company during those early hours of the morning when we're feeding instead of sleeping!

This is a thread for everyone to chat to each other about their experiences of night time feeding, the good, the bad and the ugly!

There are already a few of us who have been chatting about this in another forum for a few months now but we want to migrate over here to meet more sleep deprived parents!!

Log on and post, no whatever silly hour it is, and vent away about how knackered and stressed you are!! There's a good chance someone else is up and feeding crying with exhaustion too!!

Introductions: I have a 7 week old son, first baby and exclusively breastfeed. He's normally a nightmare to settle to sleep, screaming for hours on end, but will go for 5 hour stretches of sleep!

I'm glad he had his poo cariad - judging by how much my baby smells I'm pretty sure I'm about to find one in his nappy Grin

sing it does get better, I remember we couldn't contemplate having another until ds was over a year old. The first four months were horrendous, and it isn't as bad (so far!) This time. It's having two to deal with which is difficult and hopefully that too will become easier with practice or I don't know what I'll do!

Off for a day in town for me and baby. Ds was well enough to go out with grandad thank goodness, and things are much brighter when you get out of the house I find :)

We have joined you cariad!Fin has finally pooped - up his back and down both legs!

Singsongmama · 05/06/2014 19:11

Oh dear Puggy, a poonami tsunami!

DS has been napping all day today....feeling wary....

FrankelandFilly · 05/06/2014 19:25

Just had an epic bedtime for DD, she had her 12wk vaccinations this afternoon and has been grouchy ever since. She pretty much refused her bedtime feed, taking only 1oz from 3, and screamed at the top of her lungs for 20 mins. I've given her some calpol and she's finally asleep. I know that's not a bad bedtime compared to what some of you deal with, but it's the worst DD has been for weeks. Hoping she'll sleep for a few hours before her final feed of the night.

Writerwannabe83 · 05/06/2014 19:30

I'm not sure how things will go tonight - DS hasn't fed very well today so he will probably be wanting feeds during the night. I'm going to grab myself some food and a shower and then Baby Bedtime Wind Down can begin Smile

Frank - I hope your daughter sleeps well overnight and feels better tomorrow x

Those jabs are just horrid, poor little girl!! Screaming is awful, no matter how long it lasts. Hopefully she'll sleep it off and feel brighter when she wakes.

mrsmugoo · 05/06/2014 19:38

Evening all. Edward is flat out asleep in my arms after his bath and feed.

He's in his new 3-6 month pjs tonight. Today I packed away a load of 0-3 clothes that are too small and rotated some bigger clothes into his everyday drawer - they grow so fast!

The only downside to him going down so early is me missing out on part of his long sleep.

Cariad007 · 05/06/2014 20:45

DS was pretty good today and slept all through our outing. He was a but cranky this evening so DP took him for a walk while I went to the gym. Came home to a crying baby as he'd refused to drink more than a few sips of the bottle I'd expressed for him! I managed to give him more of it before sticking him on the boob and he's now falling asleep.

I have horrific hayfever today and am frantically googling to see if I can take an antihistamine while BFing. My doctor's lo-fi remedy of Vaseline in the nostrils to catch the pollen is just not good enough today.

Can we start a new one?! My phone starts me off at comment 1 and there's nearly 1000 on here now Grin Love this thread! Xx

Writerwannabe83 · 05/06/2014 21:08

Blimey salmon - that sounds like a nightmare trawling through all those posts. I will start a new one if someone else can link to it as I'm on an iPad and can't do it. Your username reminds me of a Friends episode Smile

DS is bathed and I'm trying to do his bedtime feed but he's so full of wind that he's just arching his back at the breast and won't attach. He's been trumping loads today and just keeps straining Sad

writer Glad someone sees the friends connection!
My 12 day old is the same, wriggling about with wind, goes very red in the face and won't feed until she lets out that fart haha

Salmonspringroll · 05/06/2014 22:00

Wish there was something I could do to help her out!

Writerwannabe83 · 05/06/2014 22:04

It's one of my favourite episodes... "Oonagi" Grin

The new thread has been started, hope you find it ok Smile

OwlinaTree · 05/06/2014 22:37

We've got a long way to go to fill up this thread tho. Shall we tell jokes?

FrankelandFilly · 05/06/2014 23:06

Yes, let's fill this one up.

My favourite crap joke:

Two snowmen in a field. One turns to the other and says "Can you smell carrots?"

Singsongmama · 06/06/2014 01:41

What's brown and sticky?

Singsongmama · 06/06/2014 01:42

A stick.

Why is six scared of seven?

Singsongmama · 06/06/2014 01:43

Because seven eight nine!
