Calling all nighttime feeders!! Let's all keep us company during those early hours of the morning when we're feeding instead of sleeping!

This is a thread for everyone to chat to each other about their experiences of night time feeding, the good, the bad and the ugly!

There are already a few of us who have been chatting about this in another forum for a few months now but we want to migrate over here to meet more sleep deprived parents!!

Log on and post, no whatever silly hour it is, and vent away about how knackered and stressed you are!! There's a good chance someone else is up and feeding crying with exhaustion too!!

Introductions: I have a 7 week old son, first baby and exclusively breastfeed. He's normally a nightmare to settle to sleep, screaming for hours on end, but will go for 5 hour stretches of sleep!

He's finally asleep.

I'm hoping he'll have one of his long stretches but knowing my luck he will wake up In an hour for another feed Sad

Night all - I hope you have a good one Thanks

Up for first feed here. I decided to go to bed at 8:30 and not wake DS which was a good call as he did a 4.5 hour stretch!

Hoping for a good remainder of the night.

Sorry to hear about babies being troublesome :(

Singsongmama · 02/06/2014 00:56

Checking in with first feed.

Glad you slept Mugoo.

How are sad unsettled little babies now?

Miracle of miracles, DS has only just got up for a feed so that's over 5 hours he's slept! I guess he was as exhausted as we were. Hopefully he'll drop off for a bit again after this feed.

sleepywombat that flight sounds traumatic! My rationalisation was that the long flight will be easier with a baby than a toddler but DS has been growing at such a rate that I'm starting to worry he won't fit in that bassinet come October. 20 hours with him on my lap would be horrific!!

Yorkie78 · 02/06/2014 03:31

Going to be a zombie tomorrow. Dd waking every 2h. Either things have really regressed or we are in growth spurt central. So tired. Hope ur having better nights.

mrsmugoo · 02/06/2014 04:13

Up for second feed here which is excellent for us - only different thing I've done is offer both boobs which he took so he was properly full up. Deffo going to do that this time!

mrsmugoo · 02/06/2014 04:25

He's just done a little poo but I'm going to leave it til morning because it was only a squirt and he's drifting off to sleep nicely - bad mother?

mrsmugoo · 02/06/2014 04:38

I changed it because he started squirming and grimacing.
Quick dose of gripe water and back on the boob...

Houston we have a problem...wide awake baby uh oh

Writerwannabe83 · 02/06/2014 05:00

Morning all, DS slept for 6 hours - lovely.

I'm feeding him now and he's ravenous,it's been over 8 hours since his last feed.

I'm not liking the fact it's light outside though and the birds are chirping as it makes it harder to get back to sleep.

cariad - I'm glad you've had a good stretch of sleep.

yorkie - that sounds really tough. I hope you got some respite at some point Thanks

Checking in second feed. That's 3 hours. He's so unsettled, poppin him in his grobag as it's dropped a few degrees. Hoping he'll snuggle down to sleep some more.

Writerwannabe83 · 02/06/2014 05:19

Exactly my problem wombat - sometimes it will take 45 minutes to get DS to sleep after his feed but on his worst days it can be 2 hours!

Very frustrating!

OP posts:
mrsmugoo · 02/06/2014 05:23

In usually up 45 mins to an hour per wake. Been up since 4 this time though :( Although just about to put him down now and attempt more sleep.

Singsongmama · 02/06/2014 05:23

Cute picture wombat!
