Facebook are thus far refusing to take down this hateful and incredibly hurtful page. Please go to the page (don't scroll down - it's disgusting) and report immediately. When you get the notification from FB that "We reviewed the page you reported for containing hate speech or symbols and found it doesn't violate our Community Standards.", you can leave feedback, and tell them that they are very clearly wrong. Thanks!

Oh and a woman's right to BF in the UK is enshrined in law, it is illegal to try and stop her. I imagine the same throughout Europe? Of course in many parts of the world you don't need laws to say women are allowed to BF because if women don't BF then babies don't get food, and most people (not all, obviously) understand that babies need feeding if they are not to die, and don't want babies to die.

It's all quite straightforward when you think about it.

FunnyFoot · 03/05/2014 16:08

Don't tell me to breath it makes you look like an idiot.

Having a personal opinion is one thing but starting a FB page calling for it's banning is another.

Women who do not like/want to breast feed are not having their choice damned on a public forum therefore their equality remains in tact.

It is a very Western point of view to see BF as gross, perverse or an act of public indecency. However breasts can be viewed in all their glory as long as it is on a beach. page three on some smutty lads mag. This is the point of view I challenge.

it may not be to you taste but that is something you'll have to learn to deal with
people hold other views
calm down

In the same vain Ronald my BF in public may not be to everyone else's taste so shouldn't they calm down and deal with it also instead of creating FB groups?

RonaldMcDonald · 03/05/2014 16:09

i didn't, i told you to breathe

all cleared up now

deepinthewoods · 03/05/2014 16:10

Ronald

lots of women find seeing diasbled people distasteful ...what about their equality?
lots of women think there is utterly no need use a wheelchair..what about their rights?

See how silly it sounds.?

People who find public breastfeeding disatesteful should stay home, or keep a muslin to drape over their face in case the horrific sight of an infant being fed is too utterly dreadful to bear.

My heart bleeds with sympathy for those poor offended people.

FunnyFoot · 03/05/2014 16:13

Before you correct my post may I suggest you read your own and check for mistakes

it may not be to you taste

I didn't correct you before as I can hold a debate without resorting to pointing out grammatical or spelling errors.Hmm

RonaldMcDonald · 03/05/2014 16:14

clearly your opinions on what is acceptable on fb is v different than what fb thinks

i know that this is a subject that for some reason makes people lose their senses however i think you are all getting your panties in a twist over nothing
feed your kids and stop imagining that everyone else feels the same way or wants to view you doing it or understand BFing from your point of view

for a large majority of people it is a meh subject

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 03/05/2014 16:15

Can it not be reported to the police as hate speech or something? I thought they took the whole FB thing seriously now.

RonaldMcDonald · 03/05/2014 16:16

funny you are so cross it is funny

this is just someone disagreeing with you on the internet over a fb page you couldn't even see.......calm down

i was pointing out that i didn't tell you to breath, seemed fair

Lanabelle · 03/05/2014 16:16

pretty sure this breaks the equality act 2010 so I double checked and yep...... to quote

"The Equality Act says that it is sex discrimination to treat a woman unfavourably because she is breastfeeding. It applies to anyone providing services, benefits, facilities and premises to the public, public bodies, further and higher education bodies and association. Service providers include most organisations that deal directly with the public. Service providers must not discriminate, harass or victimise a woman because she is breastfeeding."

the page is discriminatory and harassing and going by the photos does appear to victimise also

RonaldMcDonald · 03/05/2014 16:19

hate speech does not cover breastfeeding
that is simply the method some people chose to feed their kids

no breastfeeding isn't the same as the areas covered by hate speech laws as they cover things that cannot be chosen

this is just how you feed a baby and whether someone thinks it should be other than you view it

FunnyFoot · 03/05/2014 16:21

Yes they do Ronald hence why I voice and will continue to voice the opinion that BF haters groups should not be on FB.

In regards to losing my senses I do not see how you have come to this conclusion?

You also seem to be very interested in my panties as that his twice you have mentioned them. I am not 6 years old and prefer to wear knickers or underwear.

I do not imagine that anybody should share my point of view or feed there children the same way but what I do EXPECT is that my choice on how I feed my children is not up for public ridicule or damnation.

As I said earlier the women's vote used to be a meh subject for a large majority of men and some women. Didn't stop people changing that view did it? Or are you one of these that think women do not deserve the right to vote?

RonaldMcDonald · 03/05/2014 16:22

good luck with that legal point lana

you guys are choosing to go onto facebook to be offended about something that you hold dear to you
some of you couldn't even find the page to get offended....
facebook believes that others have the right to hold their opinions, no matter how strange

i find this circular now and will allow you to continue unaided

RonaldMcDonald · 03/05/2014 16:24

lol

again why do you think that what you choose to call your underwear should dictate what i choose to call them
this is the nub of the issue..you can't control others in rl or on the internet.

FunnyFoot · 03/05/2014 16:28

Did you see the disgusting FB page a couple of months ago that had a thread started about it, it was full of pictures of children in various states of undress and sexual poses?
This person that started it had and those that liked and commented had the opinion that this was ok and that there was nothing wrong with viewing children in this way. Given your above statement you must also think that this is also fine , yes?

LoveSardines · 03/05/2014 16:29

How can anyone be "meh" at the concept of banning BF and the global consequences that will entail?

It's a ludicrous proposition, inhumane and bizarre.

Surprised anyone on MN would support it TBH. Takes all sorts I guess.

FunnyFoot · 03/05/2014 16:30

You are leaving because you are unable to make a valid point as to why a FB page started that calls for BF to be banned is ok. Not for any other reason.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 03/05/2014 16:38

I started a thread with a link to a petition to get this FB page removed, link to thread (don't think I'm allowed to link the petition directly on here) I have just checked, the page is still there, and there is an absolutely appalling picture of Ian Watkins being used now :(

FunnyFoot · 03/05/2014 16:40

Everything

Ronald will be along shortly to tell you to leave it be and not get your panties in a twist about something you can't change.

Isn't that right Ronald?

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 03/05/2014 16:45

Well Ronald is entitled to his opinion, and I'm entitled to be absolutely disgusted that over 500 people 'like' a page full of hate and bile, who are now using images of known and convicted pedophiles as a 'joke' (waiting to see if Facebook will remove that particular image) :(

FunnyFoot · 03/05/2014 16:50

The whole thing disgusts me.

This idea that women's breasts are ok to be seen as long as they are shown in a sexual way but not for feeding a baby sickens me.

TheBoysMamma · 03/05/2014 16:53

How do you report a page?

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 03/05/2014 16:54

It's awful Funny :( I've been back to try to view it with an open mind, but it's just horrible!!

FunnyFoot · 03/05/2014 16:55

Somewhere on the right hand side of a FB page is a little cog. Click that and it should give you the option to report.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 03/05/2014 16:58

I can't find the page either. Do you think its been taken down now?

TheBoysMamma · 03/05/2014 16:58

Thanks
