Facebook are thus far refusing to take down this hateful and incredibly hurtful page. Please go to the page (don't scroll down - it's disgusting) and report immediately. When you get the notification from FB that "We reviewed the page you reported for containing hate speech or symbols and found it doesn't violate our Community Standards.", you can leave feedback, and tell them that they are very clearly wrong. Thanks!

'mouthrape' - just when you think you've heard it all.

But honestly - why bother engaging with the idiots? It's not like it's going to change their view or change anyone else's view to thinking they might be right.

They're winding you up and your taking the bait.

LOL - Oh how I wish for an edit button sometimes. You're taking the bait...

I don't understand why it would be OK for all mammals to feed their young, expect for humans, resulting in the deaths of millions of babies around the world.

What is the logic in this? Is it something to do with overpopulation? Confused Seems like a terribly callous thing to do.

Shut up Ronald and take your sparkling wit sorry sexist drivel elsewhere.
You are not as funny as you think you are.

Is this your policy ronald?

You should probably do some kind of impact study on global infant mortality before you take it further. I think you will find it hard to convince the powers that be to enforce this, to be quite honest.

I am not taking the bait, I haven't and won't post on their page but I will report, why should we leave it to stand? Or should we leave racist, disability crap to stand as well? Where do draw the line at leaving vile hate speech and an encouragement to break the law (by discriminating against bfeeding mothers) what should be left to stand and what should be stopped?! Of course it needs to be reported.

some fools putting a page on facebook that disagrees with what you think

better close the internet

this isn't 'vile hate speech' or 'racist, disability, crap'
this is simply something you don't agree with

you've complained to FB and they have said it's fine, in their opinion, on their forum

grow thicker skin and ignore nonsense and things you can't change

nicename · 03/05/2014 15:16

Yup the internet is full of gobshites. Sadly the ones that instigate such rubbish think they are being funny or provocative, but the scary ones are the ones who actually take it seriously.

Yet another reason I am happy not to facebook.

FunnyFoot · 03/05/2014 15:17

We can't change anything if we sit on our arses and say nothing.

Women's rights and equality was not achieved by ignoring what was happening or saying nothing was it?

It is a public forum as is this one and both have a duty to ensure no kind of discrimination goes on.

Your statement is exactly why people should speak out as the world has too many closed minded, head in the sand, it's not my fight people in it.

You sound and absolute pleasure to know. Hmm

Who me? What do you know about what I do on a day to day basis? I work for a charity, so get involved face to face with the homeless and people in recovery.

How very judgemental.

I've seen a hell of a lot of breast feeding and birth pics removed. Potentially, fb doesn't like bf! Hmm

Report
FunnyFoot · 03/05/2014 15:39

No it was directed at Ronald.

Report
FunnyFoot · 03/05/2014 15:43

FB doesn't like BF but has countless pictures of women displaying all but nipples in various 'sexy' poses and underwear.
If this kind of FB picture/page can remain I do not understand why a picture of a baby BF should be removed.

This is why speaking out is important.

Ridiculous suggestion as the entire species of everybody and mammal would die out.
Some people are truly dumb, and making a fb page about such ridiculousness is even dumber!!

Report
pumpkinsweetie · 03/05/2014 15:46

& Fb is rather much like Sports Direct, in that it clearly displays bazookas, bras and sexy clothing but cannot allow something as natural as breastfeedingGrin

Report
RonaldMcDonald · 03/05/2014 15:59

hey funnyfoot

and breathe

breastfeeding is important to you, fine.
not to others, fine
offensive to some, fine
joyous to others, fine

a fb page blethering about banning breastfeeding is not the same as hate speech, not the same as being racist and not the same as being disablist
lots of women find public breastfeeding distasteful ...what about their equality?
lots of women think there is utterly no need to breastfeed..what about their rights?

it may not be to you taste but that is something you'll have to learn to deal with
people hold other views
calm down

Report
LoveSardines · 03/05/2014 16:04

Banning breastfeeding will result in the deaths of millions of babies globally.

That is surely pretty hateful?

Most people react adversely to the idea of babies dying, let alone en masse and due to entirely avoidable starvation.
