Is it just a big white lie they tell you at the clinic that you regain your figure back quicker by breast feeding ?

Don't seem to have lost anything since the birth except the weight of the baby 3 months ago!!

Am NOT dieting..walking very fast everywhere but still it ain't budging!

Anyone else the same?

yep!

tiktok · 28/06/2006 23:07

The research shows that there is not much diff. between bf and not bf until you bf for six months....so there is hope for you yet!

hunkermunker · 28/06/2006 23:08

First baby, I found this.

Second baby and I'm a lot thinner than I was.

I put that down to have a 2yo to chase when I'm not feeding though I did a lot more sitting down and eating cake when DS1 was a baby.

olivia35 · 28/06/2006 23:10

Both times within 2 months of bf'ing I've ended up thinner than immediately before getting pregnant.

HOWEVER that's still not exactly skinny, I attribute it mostly to restricted alcohol intake/being at home & taking time to eat healthily, & last time it crept back on as soon as I went back to work & started eating canteen stodge again!

Frizbe · 28/06/2006 23:12

Yep exactly the same, it only shifts when you stop BF, or in my case that's what happened last time!

Lact8 · 28/06/2006 23:20

I have gone back to my usual size after all 3 but agree with Hunker that a lot of it is due to never getting chance to sit down with a toddler to deal with too

Would it be wrong to express when dd stops feeding so I can carry on eating what I want??

hunkermunker · 28/06/2006 23:20

Not sure about that, Frizbe - I was massive when I stopped breastfeeding DS1 when he was 17mo. Mind you, I was five months pregnant

hunkermunker · 28/06/2006 23:21

Lact8, I was wondering that the other day too... I wondered if I might be the oldest lactating person ever, just so I could eat doughnuts.

I have visions of me hiding in the wardrobe, pump in hand and then telling everyone I've actually been doing yoga to stay so trim!

hunkermunker · 28/06/2006 23:27

ROFL!

What's this, granny?

Errrr, it's a bicycle horn.

Lact8 · 28/06/2006 23:29

PMSL!

And not pumping on bingo days so they're nice and full and can show off ample bosom

hunkermunker · 28/06/2006 23:30

Think this is probably freaking people out, Lact8

NotAnOtter · 28/06/2006 23:32

the withered breast would be plump with milk you would be the envy of the retirement home

I reckon so!

But bfeeding seems like its my one and only natural talent sometimes and I want to make the most of it

(my family say I would've make a great wet nurse )

NotAnOtter · 28/06/2006 23:36

eh!!! you should see my freezer i keep meaning to show it off on mumsnet!

mrsnoah · 28/06/2006 23:44

Blimey, i only went to throw the dog out and have come back to big boobed grannies and bicycle horns!!
Am always hungry, but you only need an extra 500 cals/day to BF ? How many chocolate bourbons is that do you think ?

mrsnoah · 28/06/2006 23:46

More excersise required then. Is Penguin walking still out of vogue?
Could I reintroduce do you think ?

You are welcome to borrow my 2yo for a week or two

Lact8 · 28/06/2006 23:50

If you really want to lose weight you can have my ds2 as well, teamed up with hunkers and you'll be a rake in a week!

My ds2 likes penguins aswell

all4girlz · 28/06/2006 23:50

my hubby is following the GI diet since my dd3 asked him when he was going to use his man boobies to feed dd4

I have not joined him on it as still b/f but my weight has not budged (maybe has something to do with all the chocolate I scoff when he is on nights LOL )
I was still b/f dd3 when preg with dd4 ( until 17 weeks anyway) so feel like I have been this size forever.!!

stitch · 28/06/2006 23:51

no it isnt.
i lost all my pregnancy weight after ds2 by breastfeeding. all gone by the time he was 11 weeks. a further ten kilos lost over the rest of the 5 months of breast feeding.

ddint work with dd though

all4girlz · 28/06/2006 23:54

ooh I wish
even pushing dd4 with dd3 on buggy board everywhere is not ridding me of any pounds.
