A few prominent stateside bloggers have started this lovely supportive campaign called I Support You - http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/3685881 here's a Huffington Post article about it

Basically, supporting all parents however they're feeding their babies, effort to end the online/media Mommy Wars etc.

I think it's a lovely idea and wanted to post here so I could also thank all the clever MNers who helped me with feeding issues over the past year of both the ff and bf variety. Can't remember all the names but eg Tiktok and BikeRunSki. Only reason I would not be shitting myself at the idea of trying to bf DC2 is because I know I can come and ask on Mumsnet for help. You guys are ACE Thanks

/ends soppy waffing/

As you were... AIBU for being a big girls' blouse etc etc

It is a lovely campaign....but my only reservation is that it exagerrates the so-called 'war'.

There are far, far, FAR more articles and posts calling for mothers to stop warring with each other, than anything actually creating discord and disharmony.

It's like everyone believing that because the Daily Mail is obsessed with women's signs of aging that the whole world gives a shit about a wrinkle on Jennifer Aniston's forehead.

The vast majority of women already support each other, and don't criticise each other for their feeding experiences.

I think you're probably right tiktok - I see a bit of an online/offline divide. Mostly offline there's nothing but support, no such "war". I have corrected people a few times in RL for ignorant remarks about feeding (on both sides) and asked why on earth they thought it was ok to say something like that.

Online on many parenting forums (not so much MN, in my experience) it's a different story, more aggression? Possibly (as it's organised by US bloggers) maybe it's more prevalent in US media than it is here.
