Sorry if this has been done before...my Sis-in-law is keen to breastfeed (baby due next month) and I'm really really keen to encourage her and, I guess, pre-warn her about the whole 'normality' of frequent feeds, lack of routine, baby only sleeping on/with you etc in the early days. I feel that with many friends their expectations of it being different (e.g. baby feeding every 3-4 hours and sleeping peacefully in a moses basket in between feeds, etc) have lead to them losing confidence in their ability to breastfeed and feeling that they don't have enough milk, need to give a bottle etc - and ultimatley not continuing to breastfeed. I'm not being judgemental at all as I can see how easily it can happen, but I thought that if there is a book that covers all of this along with some facts (as opposed to 'hearsay') on the mechanics of breastfeeding (e.g. breasts not needing to 'refill' in between feeds etc) I could recommend this to her, or even buy it as a gift...I know I could just tell her my experiencews (I have 3 DCs under 7) but I am worried that I already come across as a bit of a baby know-it-all and don't want to sound as though I'm telling them how it should be done... if that makes sense.
Anyway, this very long post is to ask for any recommendations of a book or books along the lines above - thanks and sorry for rambling!
