And it's entirely up to breastfeeding, both of them for over two years.

Grin Wink

(Just felt inspired to start this thread as every time research in favour of breastfeeding is quoted the anecdotal evidence is dug out how it's all wrong wrong wrong - with the so-called breastfeeding "mafia" (how I hate that term!!!) pointing out that research is about likelihood and probability. So today I thought "what the heck, I can do it too" Grin)

Oh God this is up again and i can't stay out!
My dd2 is bottlefed and has hardly been ill a day in her first year, what is this? A competition?
Sorry KoolKat but how do you know?
Good for you and evrything but bottlefed babies aren't always poorly wheezy sicky creatures you knowSmile

bf dd and she is always ill asthma excema hayfever every allergy going!! chest infections since day 1 digestion problems and she is short and fat, cant comment on intelligence as she is only 2 but she cant count and hasnt a clue about her colours everything is pink and purple! guessing it might be genetic as me and her dad are creative not academic and neither of us are tall and he is on large side and my boobs are knackered was big got huge now big and saggy!

quick hijack - emkana, how are things? Have been off MN for a bit.

right ok then,

dd1, breatfed for around 6 weeks, then onto formula. she has eczema, asthma, hayfever and other allergies, tho rarely is 'ill'.

dd2, breastfed for around 8 weeks. she also has eczema, hayfever and allergies. is constantly ill, and spent most of her life being prodded and poked.

dd3, now 12months old and is still breastfed. has had some illnesses, but has started with eczema in the last month. am expecting hayfever to follow soon.

my dh is atopic, so it stands to reason that at least one of our childsren will also be atopic. dd1 is the very atopic child in this family, but dd2+3 are also prone to allergies due to GENETICS. breatfeeding them may help prevent the onset of allergies, but so can a good diet, a clean but not steralised house (a bit of dirt never hurt anyone) and good use of natural materials in the home and in clothing.

fit - thanks for asking, have been going in for repeat scans, nothing much seems to be changed (amnio was clear), the ventricles are enlarged.

Have now been referred to fetal medicine unit for expert opinion.

Hope you are well. Smile
