Nursing question

How long can you go without nursing or pumping before your milk supply starts to decrease or stop? My 2 month old hasn't been feeding as frequently and I don't want to pump as much as I have been so I'll be full when she's ready to nurse. But I don't want my milk supply to lower or stop. Anyone know how long you can go?

I think at 2 monthsyou will still be establishing a god supply so regular feeding/pumping atleast 4 hourly is necessary.

How often is LO feeding?

You might get more replies if you post this in the Feeding section, I'll ask MN to move it there :)

HerMomma, short gaps between feeding/expressing = more milk. Long gaps = less milk.

Why are you expressing?

It's generally just fine to breastfeed responsively - that is, as often as your baby cues to be bed - and that means you make what your baby needs.

She did feed every 3 to 4 hours but lately it's been longer then that. Sometimes she won't take it an just wants the bottle that's why I pump once in awhile.
