Got the new ABM magazine this morning.
On the backpage is an advert for a website run by Lisa Cole.
Some classics were...

'I'm a tit man'

'I like milk form my mum,not just any old cow.'

Address is www.lactivist.co.uk

(No connection to me by the way-just like the lady's style!!)

I wouldn't have been offended, anyway ... I have a collection of fecal books for kids, how could I claim to have taste?

Le Grand Voyage de Monsieur Caca is great, biologically accurate and really cute.

Rather sad to see this thread as I think its pretty personal and she is actually someone I know online and she is very nice. As for the reward charts, they are actually made by another WAHP and they are actually reusable stickers.

No it wasnt the opinion about the product, fair point not everyone likes a product like this, its the personal opinions about the person I dont like!

f*ck a duck!

spidermama · 15/11/2005 15:43

Slogans are not my thing, but at least these are funny and refresing.
However I know from experience (and threads like this) that it's not a good idea to be publicly proud or happy about breastfeeding if you want to keep any vestiges of popularity.

If there's one thing I learned in school it's the importance of taking great care to conceal any talents for fear of being hated by all. It's a particularly important lesson in British schools.

Everyone loves a loser, because it means they don't have to feel threatened.

Can you tell my mood is dark at the moment?

fisil · 15/11/2005 15:48

I am quite excited about the idea of turd stickers - could come in useful with some of the work I mark

dottee · 15/11/2005 15:49

Hi - just thought I'd interupt here but it's my dd's teacher who makes the 'poo in the potty charts' and they do work, on the basis of rewarding the positive.

The stickers are reusable but not magnetic. OK the 'turds' do look disgusting at first but they are visual (my dd understands the reward system and she is SN and non-verbal, and I've got a result from our chart because it has stopped her wetting). The charts and other items can be found here

i am quite taken with the cloth nappy t-shirt.

moondog · 15/11/2005 16:46

Whatever you think of them, naff they certainly aren't.
That is an epithet reserved for quite different things.....or people.

Well said SM. Spot on!

Does anyone make a range of pro bottle feeding T shirts?

Had a little smile at the "this side next" bracelet, mainly because I had visions of trying to loop it over your breast.

I think they're naff because I simply don't think this is something that is anyone's business but the mother's. Why go around boasting that you can breastfeed twins into toddlerhood?? Who cares other than yourself? It's just as naff as having a T shirt made up with "I've got a first class maths degree from Oxford" or "I'm thinner than you". Why would you do it?

Still like DCUK though...

bobbybob · 15/11/2005 17:43

I like the allergic to wheat one - ds isn't, but I can see that this would be useful.

I took ds out for the day and stuck massive stickers on him front and back saying "Allergy Alert - Ask Mum First". A T shirt would have been more pleasant to wear.

Apart from that my original opinion of T shirts with slogans applies.

puff · 15/11/2005 17:47

I still say naffo. However, I do like the Christmas cards.

starlover · 15/11/2005 17:50

i think the one with the crossed out bottle and "formula sucks" is really horrible.

there is no need to belittle other peoples parenting choices. and there is also no need to put your children in clothes with slogans on when they have no idea what they even mean.

Enid · 15/11/2005 17:56

so I think I'll launch the 'N.E.I.D' range

'I cook from scratch!'

'Our other car is a BMW'

'I (heart) Waitrose'

'Boden is for wimps'

and for the kiddies

'My mummy is middle-class'

misdee · 15/11/2005 17:59

i also found the formula ones a bit odd. i'm all for breastfeeding, but feel that we shouldnt have a go at others choices.

starlover · 15/11/2005 18:00

imagine if someone started doing "ban breastfeeding" tops or something!!!

NotQuiteCockney · 15/11/2005 18:36

Yeah, I agree with (or sympathise with) a lot of the sentiment behind those products, but not "bottlefeeding sucks". That's a bit harsh and unnecessary.

Nightynight · 15/11/2005 19:10

I find them hilarious, but agree, dcuk is the only one Id consider letting my child wear!

theyd love turd stickers though - the older ones could help with the baby's potty training.

chipmonkey · 16/11/2005 11:06

"Formula is for suckers" is a bit harsh. Imagine seeing that on a baby if you'd tried to bf and couldn't.
It did annoy me, though, when ds3 was born and my SIL gave me a card with a teddy holding a bottle.
