He didn't. He's nearly 4 and still doesn't sleep all night. I doubt he ever will. Soon he'll be big enough to get up and put on the TV, thank God.

ds breast fed till he was 7 months.

slept through the night when almost 5 years old and had stated school.

It was horrific.
i was a walking corpse.

just reading back and it seems that i was not the only one with a non sleeper.

was convinced i was.

DD1 solely breast fed until 5 months old. Slept through, from 8pm til 7am from 10 weeks. Yes, that is true. Don't shoot me.

DD2, also solely breast fed until 4 months, slept from 10pm til 7am at around 3 months.

Both my DDs are very good sleepers.

'Lucky'...I hear you cry. Yes, lucky, but also dio do controlled crying quite early on which was bloody hard work, so not all 'Luck' in my opinion.

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 18/12/2010 20:34

dd2 is also 7 weeks, and is still up Hmm. she will, going on past performance, wake at 11pm, 2am, 4am, then doze off and on until dd1 get up at 7am.

dd1 was formula fed, and tbh woke as often, though was in her moses basket, whereas dd2 co sleeps. dd1 only slept through after we sleep trained. i think some dc are just not good sleepers, regardless of what's in their tummies.

NOVEMBERALI - that sounds fab!

I thought controlled crying was meant to be done after 6 months, or am I thinking of something else?

Georgimama · 18/12/2010 21:27

No you're not thinking of something else, NN. Six months at the earliest.

Dozeyland · 18/12/2010 23:34

controlled crying?

Good point, tbh I thought that she meant controlled crying when she said CIO, lots of people confuse the two. IMHO no baby should ever actually be left to just cry themselves to sleep at any age.

NinkyNonker · 19/12/2010 20:03

Absolutely not. CIO just sounds barbaric, CC at least has some 'sense' to it, when babies are old enough. Not sure I subscribe to it though.
