Shark attack while breastfeeding

StealthPomBear · 17/11/2010 22:27

I was feeding DD earlier, yawned, and had a toy shark stuffed in my mouth while my eyes were shut.
Later on she dropped the shark, sat up, looked down my cleavage most indignantly, found the shark (not there, on the bed!) and lay back down happily for her feed.

i can't stand the fiddling with the other nipple myself. ds went through a standing on one leg and waving one arm in the air whilst trying to breastfeed. not comfortable, even with super stretchy nipples.

DancingThroughLife · 17/11/2010 22:59

I can't wait to get some of these quirks. They make me smile every time. All I get at the moment is the odd smile-round-the-nipple.

Although she has started stroking me in the last few days - from my shoulder right across my chest, it's like I'm a dog Grin

StealthPomBear · 17/11/2010 23:00

ahhh
first the stroking, then the twiddling...you have been warned!

Blackeyed, ah yes, the Flamingo Feed Grin

DancingThroughLife · 17/11/2010 23:08

So it goes stroke, twiddle, flamingo, shark?

Is the twiddle the famous Radio Tuning?

AngelDog · 18/11/2010 19:47
Grin
peppapighastakenovermylife · 18/11/2010 19:49

DS2 nipple grabbed yesterday and squirted himself in the eye - he looked so shocked bless him Grin

Then being a typical boy he did it again and grinned Hmm

marzipananimal · 18/11/2010 20:15

I've heard about this nipple twiddling (ds only 11 weeks so not there yet), but how do they get to the nipple if you're wearing a bra and a top? Seems logistically difficult, at least in the position that I feed ds. Loving the smiles on the nipple now :) (and find the occasional burps quite funny too Grin )

Oh they manage, trust me! DS manages to shove his little arm through however many layers I have on at the time.

Managing the nipple twiddling at the moment by whenever it's really annoying me I grab the offending hand and trim his nails with my teeth. Sometimes he hates this and pulls his hand far away out of reach and sometimes he sleepily tolerates it but it actually serves to calm him down a bit (for some reason) and he stops wriggling and drops off!

My most favourite thing he does is when he brings some random toy (Thomas the tank engine usually) to have some "moolk" from the other side at the same time.

The most annoying thing is attempted nipple-twiddling using TOES. Angry

BertieBotts · 18/11/2010 20:23

Surprise wait until he learns how to squirt it Grin

PaulineFouler · 18/11/2010 20:25

I say to DD "Is that nice?" while she is BF and she gives me a little nod Grin.

BornAgainBokononist · 18/11/2010 20:29

Grin ds has just started milking me like a cow with his hand! Still have the flamingo to look forward to then!

Bertie, that is very cute! I am currently tandem feeding DD and a small plastic cheetah.

jaggythistle · 18/11/2010 21:23

My nursling (learned that word on Kellymom and always wanted to use it in a sentence) is very well behaved.

He is also 14 months and doesn't really nipple twiddle, but does the stopping feeding occasionally to poke/examine it thing. I normally only have one out at a time though and he hasn't figured out that he could get in there himself yet. He lies and waits almost jumping excitedly till a boob appears Grin

He just lies nicely and feeds most of the time.

If he ever tries to feed in a funny position he just bursts out laughing and gives up!

grumpypumpkin · 18/11/2010 21:27

Love this thread! Thanks for sharing, hope I will still be bfing when mine is old enough for cute things like these! Smile

mollycuddles · 18/11/2010 21:30

My dd is 5.5 months and she has mastered burping without latching off. Very funny.

SirBoobAlot · 18/11/2010 21:35

As of today I have had to start spelling M-I-L-K.

I asked someone earlier if they wanted milk in their coffee.

To which DS signed "milk", got all excited, and lunged himself at my boob, and practically chewed his way through my t-shirt.

It is providing everyone expect from me with endless entertainment now Hmm

PrematureEjoculation · 18/11/2010 21:37

had to laugh at the title op

i have been attacked by a spider whilst BF, though this is because DD thrust it at me with a vigorous push - 'feed it MUMMY'!

jaggythistle · 18/11/2010 21:39

I somehow inadvertently called it 'milkies' so I don't tend to use it in conversation, luckily.

I think it was during a distractable phase and I kept saying "Do you not want any milkies DS?" without realising I was doing it.

One day I just realised that when I said 'milkies' he turned back round and latched on Shock

I think it was the first word he understood!

louii · 18/11/2010 21:47

I hate when DD is kneading my boob with her hand, like a kitten.
9 months now and finds random things funny, she can be feeding away and hear a funny (to her) noise and start laughing hysterically with milk spraying everywhere.

BertieBotts · 18/11/2010 23:32

Sirboob Yes! I have to spell or gesticulate for milk, feeding AND breast as he understands all three Confused though is fairly easily distracted now, especially if there are other children around.
