I missed this completely, but you might want to read about / listen to a good experience talking about these things:

I've always thought that it was illegal for anyone to throw you out of a cafe etc for breastfeeding . This page says it's covered under the sexual discrimination act- www.lactivist.net/?p=141

I don't like Hooter Hiders for the fact that they exist, nothing to do with women who use them. What I mean is that they send a message just by being in a catalogue that you need one. You don't, even if you want to be covered up there are other ways to do it. I don't like the message that they send.

I also think that people who use them are sending a message out that they believe they're doing something wrong so more likely to be harrased. That's not saying I blame the victim, it's never right.

Sweet, it is illegal in Scotland. In the rest of the UK it is not illegal. If someone asks you to leave their business you have to go and whilst we have no protection in the rest of the UK that includes if they ask you because you're breastfeeding. In fact they could call the police if you refuse to leave because they're not breaking any law by asking you.

However you could get a solicitor later and take out an action against the owner to your own cost. But in 35 years the law has existed it's never been tested.

That link hasn't the foggiest what they're talking about!
