Book Club?

Hi all! I used to be in a long running book club which folded when people moved away etc and I really miss it. I've tried various others and looked at the library ones etc, but they are all either in the middle of the day or too genre specific etc.

Would anyone here like to start a monthly club? We could read the book then discuss it here?

I'm interested, but like pp I'd like to know more about the setup before committing.
For example, if you choose a book a month, would you have a date for when it could be discussed? (Say 2 or 3 weeks after it was chosen). To allow everyone to read and then take part in the discussion?

Have you taken part in text-based online book groups before @DuckCootLoon? How do they work? I'd also like to join, but can't see how it can translate in the way this forum operates, although I'm willing to give it a go.

I see that on the 'Rather Dated' book thread they create a separate thread for each discussion - but I haven't looked at one!

I’m already in a RL one but would love to join a MN one too.
The idea of voting is a good one 👍🏻

Ah that's a good idea. I think that there needs to be something in place to allow people who haven't finished yet to avoid spoilers when the discussion starts.
@SylvanMoon , no I haven't done an online club before, and was wondering like you about the practicalities.
