Need a cheery book to read

Hello I would like a heartwarming cheery book to read that might lift my spirits . Any suggestions ?

Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt - I read it on holiday recently. The concept is nuts but it’s such a heart warming story, I loved it!

Trisha Ashley kindle books. High literature they are not but there's something about them that I find peaceful and uplifting. Especially the Christmas ones.

The Offing by Benjamin Myers. Possibly the most beautiful book I've ever read both the story and the language. I was so sad to finish it.

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine is very light, if you care about that, but very heartwarming

‘Keanu Reeves is not in love with you’ is really quite funny. I laughed a lot at parts of it.

My recommendation would be Small Bomb at Timperley by Lissa Evans, light and heartwarming.

I just picked Unscripted by Fearne Cotton, it says ‘uplifting and heartfelt’ on the cover.

God almighty not Eleanor Oliphant! That still haunts me.

I suggest The Husbands or Anxious People, both brilliant and charming and funny.

When I’m looking for that in a book, I return time and again to Full Moon by PG Wodehouse.

Dear Mrs Bird by A J Pearce.

I love this and found it uplifting but the plot is centered around grief so may not meet the ask 100%. Have you read any Emily Henry or Taylor Jenkins Reid?

Bucolic, lightweight and cosy: Miss Read or the Burracombe series by Lilian Harry. Books that I want to climb into and live in the villages they describe.

Funny: PG Wodehouse

A wonderful tapestry of life and a family: Swann Trilogy by Delderfield, or the Horseman Riding by Trilogy.

Ripping good stories: Nevil Shute. Start with A Town Like Alice or Trustee from the Toolroom.

Completely agree about Lissa Evans and Old Baggage. Also V For Victory.

These (except for Lissa Evans) are all 20thC books. It's hard to think who is writing cheerful books now.

Definitely not Eleanor Oliphant as it deals with child abuse and other very dark topics.

Enchanted April is a good one often recommended on here.

In Her Shows, JoJo Moyes. I listened to it and it was incredible! Well read, great story.

Elizabeth Goudge is classic but very comforting
