GBM I haven't had boob leakage, either and didn't when pg with DD. I BF her for 5.5 months and never really had the need for breast pads even at night, so I guess that some boobies are more leaky than others!!

DD is out with our neighbours for lunch as it is their little girls b-day, so I'm trying to have a nice couple of hours peace and quite. The thing is, usually I'd give anything for time to myself, but find I'm really missing her now!!

Our short list of names are Harriet or Gabriella for a girl, Joseph or George for a boy. Quite trad and well used, but I like it that way!! Although, everyone keeps trying to talk us out of Harriet, but is DHs favourite, so not backing down!! Stayfrosty and Blue76, really loving your names! It's so difficult to pick 'the one', isn't it?! I suppose we'll just have to wait and see what the baby looks like to decide!! I had a list of 12 names when went into hospital with DD and we knew she was going to be a girl!!

The baby is going to get DD a Disney princess scooter as a present, I think! Although, she just went on next doors and fell off, so will have to see!! Need to get it soon, though as have my 36 weeks scan tomorrow to see if I'm going to be booked in for a c-section! Bit scared, actually...

StealthPolarBear · 10/08/2009 14:43

Thanks for the ideas! We were at soft play and he's really enjoyed playing with a teapot and cup so might look into tea sets.
NO leakage here, but am feeding DS and haven't really noticed any difference, apart from the soreness

Hi ladies. Mw been and gone. Really excited about this home birth now

Re cervical stringy/snotty mucus - it's completely normal. Though if there is blood in it that's a different thing...

Re breech babies. LO is transverse now. Mw told me that there is no way of knowing by touch exactly where a baby is lying. Scans would be done at 37 weeks to tell. She said it's quite irrelevant what position they are in at this stage [i am 34+1] as they can move around easily.

We've already got Alexandra and Francesca. This LO is going to be Amelia. Prefer old fashioned names to these modern ones!

bigbang · 10/08/2009 15:33

Hey all,

Just back from my scan, placenta has moved! Thank goodness. All was well with the baby, estimated at 5lb 1oz already. Possibly another 7 weeks of growth if I go overdue, that bloody prediction might end up being true

Our names list is very short, think we have found the right name but I expect to change my mind several more times. If its a boy (very unlikely after the scan) it will be Felix or Alexander for sure though.

The new baby is going to get ds some Thomas trains that fit on his biro track we think. Haven't decided on that either though, I keep changing my mind. I wanted to be something he really loves, and he may well have moved on from his Thomas obsession by then...

fantastic bigbang!
SF - DS did the cluster feeding thing, but I don't remember it being quite that bad The one thing I am going to do this time is get the hang of feeding in a sling

How old is she? I've decided that at 2y3m DS needs to start being a bit more self sufficient and doing his own fish fingers

Hi all sorry I have been away so long. Has been chaos here with the hols, spd, swine flu and ohh all sorts of other stuff going on.

Audrey I tried your link!

The day you deliver, outside will be light. Your baby will arrive in the late afternoon. After a labor lasting approximately 10 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 15 pounds, 12 ounces, and will be 18-1/2 inches long. This child will have medium brown eyes and a lot of black hair. Well nil points there lol. I am having a girl, mine traditionally turn up at about 1 in the morning have brown eyes and blond/light brown hair although I am ginger and dh seems to have a ginger gene too as his stubble grows in ginger would not be surprised if this one was a carrot top too. It better not be 15lbs 12 oz.

Had to go for a growth scan last week where they estimated current weight to be 5lb 4 oz. Not sure how accurate this is though. I have 5 weeks and 5 days left till edd but am sure that I will go over again this time dd was 7 days over and ds was 16 days over so anywhere in between will be ok by me.

Gonnabe. I would of killed the dozy madwife and stuffed her in a cupboard too. I am sick of them all making comments about my weight/size. I am 5 foot seven and am currently a size 18 wich is not bad considering this time last year I was a size 20-22 I am still half a stone lighter than I was pre pregnancy which is nearly a stone lighter than I was at full term with ds 4 years ago.

Littlecheese and sprinkle sounds as if your nesting instinct has kicked in already.

SF Glad to hear your DH has managed to get in touch with you.

SPD is driving me up the wall as are my constantly bickering children. I keep getting pins and needles in my little finger since starting to use the crutches!

Anyone else waking at 3 and 4 am and not being able to get back to sleep?

TigerFeet · 10/08/2009 16:09

DD did the clusterfeeding/sleeping through from fairly early on. Probably why I was so leaky. She was awful in the evenings, really colicky and unsettled, but she would eventually go to sleep at around 10 and sleep through until about 6/7 the following morning. I'm hoping for easier evenings this time round, but not sure I'm willing to trade them for a good night's sleep

Calin Bleu slings look good, I've been looking at Mobys which seem similar. I think I prefer a wrap that goes over both shoulders as it spreads the weight a bit once the baby gets bigger.

Fab news bigbang

These babies are getting more co-operative aren't they? Judging by where I'm being kicked, mine is still head down.

BabyLady · 10/08/2009 17:12

Hi all, hope you all had a nice day.

Congrats Bigbang on your news. Just what you wanted to hear.

Boobs have started leaking a little bit of colustrum overnight but only a very small amount.

Also had some news today which was a bit of a shock. The second Mum in my antenatal group had her baby this morning and the baby has downs sydrome. As far as I am aware they were not expecting this so I am very heavy hearted for them. I know there is a broad range as to how the baby is affected but I don't know anything more at this stage .

StealthPolarBear · 10/08/2009 17:45

babylady, that must have been a shock for them. Do you know how the baby is? Does he/she have any heart problems?

OP posts:
SprinkleofStardust · 10/08/2009 18:23

Congratulations BigBang, that must be a big relief!!!

Babylady, I'm sorry to hear that for the mum in your antenatal class. It may not help now, but sometimes thinking that just because you asked for a rose but got a lily doesn't make that lily any less beautiful, can help. I worked with a severely disabled girl and she has changed my whole outlook on life and I think really enriched it.

However, I am still terrified that there will be something wrong with this LO and my heart goes out to that couple. I hope that their LO is as healthy as he/she can be.

audreyraines · 10/08/2009 18:35

yay bigbang, so happy for you.

all placentas moved and accounted for is it - excellent!

i've leaked a few times in pregnancy (bit embarrasing), but was super super leaky the whole time while feeding DS. For those who have the same leaky problem, ONLY buy lansinoh or tomee tippee breast pads. the johnsons ones, mothercare ones or supermarket brands just will not do the job. and as for washables - i did try to be eco friendly , but my boobs just wouldn't cooperate.

Am hoping for a good sleeper this time. ds was a shocker (and still sometimes is!)

LJ29 · 10/08/2009 19:07

Still one placenta to be checked here next week actually!

LittleCheese · 10/08/2009 19:16

Audry thanks for that link love the bra, just need to get fitted now, I hate buying things online incase I have to send them back.

I think i am in for a real culture shock with this baby, DD was bottle fed and slept from 7pm-8am from being 6 weeks doubt my breast fed baby will do the same

seen my mw today all is well and baby is engaged 36 +2 i really hope it comes soon

ladylush · 10/08/2009 19:24

Just popping in to say hi to you all - don't get much time these days! dd is doing well and doctor said she might be ready to come home this week It's quite tricky juggling caring for ds and visiting dd so it will be much better when she is home. Plus poor ds hasn't even met her yet and is desperate to see her.

Hope all is going well with all of you. Had a quick scan and no sign of anyone else having their baby yet - ? Good - the uterus is the best incubator. Mind you, it is fascinating watching all the things dd does and sounds she makes - which she wouldn't have done if still inside me

Hi ladylush - glad to hear your DD is doing well, hope she gets to come home as planned. Bet your DS is desperate to see her!
LJ - good luck, I had a low lying placenta in my last pregnancy and the figures the MW gave me were very reassuring - something like 90% of them have shifted by 34 weeks.
LC- I can't believe the baby's head is engaged and it's your 2nd
I am surprised that we only have one baby so far, given that some of us are 37+ weeks! (not me, I should ass )

HI all
Quick post. D-Day 27th August if I make it that far. I got weighed finally- I have gone from 8 stone 10lb to 14 stone that's over 5 stone! These babies better weigh a stone each or I've got serious dieting to do!!
I didn't ask what my BMI was in case it was off the scale (I am just under 5ft 4").
More worrying is the fact that I have another 2 1/2 weeks for them to grow.
Glad all going well Ladylush it must be a great relief to see her growing well.
