Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
soon2befamilyof4 · 23/04/2009 21:00

ohhhh, they hurt tooo much! My house is too much of a mess to have baby tonight!

Maybe TMI but I have been for a poo at least 10 times a day, minimum. But not got the runs, just normal stools iyswim.

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 23/04/2009 21:10

soon2be thats good news, apparently we empty our bowels before labour so poo's are good!

dont worry about the house im sure everyone will want to rally round and help out if baby did decide to make an appearance tonight

surprisenumber3 · 23/04/2009 21:12

Poo's are good, yep!

I'm bleeding a bit now.

soon2befamilyof4 · 23/04/2009 21:16

If I have a bath - will it slow things down?

soon2befamilyof4 · 23/04/2009 21:17

Suprise, I think bleeding is a good sign BUT I know the birthing centre said to me to call in if:

  • your waters have gone
  • COntractions are every 5 mins
  • You have any bleeding

So I would give the MW/labour ward a call?

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 23/04/2009 21:18

probably, usually does me if im having pains, unless it is established labour and defo going to happen then it would carry on

surprisenumber3 · 23/04/2009 21:20

it's stringy blood so must be some more show. Oh I'm getting sick of this....come on baby!!

brettgirl2 · 23/04/2009 21:26

This is very exciting! Many of you well on the way over.....

I'm sure Nutty's fine - she won't be able to update from the delivery suite. She was posting this morning wasn't she?

surprisenumber3 · 23/04/2009 21:29

Nutty not posted since last night. I think BB text her this morning but no reply.

soon2befamilyof4 · 23/04/2009 21:57

Hope Nuttys OK.

Had a big contraction as I was getting in the bath but then was in there for about 20 mins or so and NO contractions!!! This better had not been a complete false alarm!!!

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 23/04/2009 22:18

Evening all,

just checking in for new babies, but am too tired to actually take in any information....I see Trista has popped, yay! Anyone else I've missed?

Found myself trying to feed DS1 his tea (which he didn't want) this evening while simultaneously calming Orbit who was screaming extremely loudly. Also needed a poo very badly and various domestic tasks were crying out to be done including washing, dishwasher etc. At that moment Barnardo's came to the door collecting for neglected children - I very nearly offered them Orbit as a donation!

Turns out they really wanted money for other neglected children, rather than actual children. Tchah.

soon2befamilyof4 · 23/04/2009 23:39

Right, had a btah and everything slowed down just as my mum and sister arrived. Typical as my mum wasn't convinced I am in labour anyway. Went for a very quick walk and thinks are going again but not as strong as before.

Good news is I have had a bloody show now - do I need to phone the birthing centre now or leave it till I have regular contractions? I bet you are all in bed now!!!

Anybody else still up and having labour signs?

soon2befamilyof4 · 24/04/2009 00:44

Things picking up again! Been too busy getting stuff sorted to do timings! Have just hung up 3 loads of washing and my mum kindly had a tidy up earlier so thats sorted. Have phoned birthing centre just to let them know what is happening. I want to keep active but not sure how? I would love to go for a walk but def wouldn't go on my own (very dark, no street lights, would be stupid to go alone) but DH can't come because somebody needs to stay here for DD. This is the perfect timimng childcare wise for me as after the easter hols went I thought I would be stuck but I have my ssiter back for the weekend! She is staying at my mums which is 10 mins away and my mum is coming to the birth with me so she would bring sister over who would then have DD. YAY!

Going to make sure everything is ready, put dinner etc out for DD and right down a list of things my sister should know etc.

I am scared! I don't want to push this baby out! Can somebody else please do it for me?

soon2befamilyof4 · 24/04/2009 01:39

Contractions now about 4 mins apart BUT I just don't feel like I am in enough pain to go in yet? I mean obviously the contractions are painful, but they are bearable with just Tens?

gingersarah · 24/04/2009 07:23

Congratulations Trista!

Soon2be - maybe you have your baby? Maybe it's all happening? Good luck!

I wish I knew what was happening with Nutty - I hope no news is good news.

Good thoughts to you all

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 24/04/2009 08:24

morning anyone hanging around

soon2be hope you okay and it was the real thing! if not hope you got a good nights sleep after the pains.

sarah do you have an induction date yet?

gingersarah · 24/04/2009 08:27

Hi Lauren - no, I am not even getting a sweep till next Wednesday. If nothing comes of that I expect they would be pretty speedy with the induction as it will be two weeks the Saturday after - as you know!

How are you feeling?

BabyBolat · 24/04/2009 08:28

Morning all

Still no word from Nutty - am starting to get a bit worried and I don't want to text again and hassle her! I'm with you ginger, am hoping no news means she is so in love with her new LO she just can't tear her hands away to text xx

Soon2be - oooh exciting!!!

Kara is refusing to sleep today and I have SOOOO much I need to get done! I have a house full of visitors tomorrow and I need to clean the house, wash Kara's nappies, do the three loads of ironing I have avoided doing for weeks, degunge the bathroom (which involves scrubbing grout off tiles and floors) put up the shelves and towel rail in the bathroom, touch up the paint the hallway from the builders, have a shower, give Kara a bath, walk to the post office, go food shopping, I wanted to bake a cake but that is sooooo not going to happen! grrr - any tips for making them go off in to a big snooze for - ooh say 4 hours???

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 24/04/2009 08:38

im okay just fed up, probably exactly same as you i had a sweep yesterday and got another one tomorrow, didnt do anything yesterday though, then they will book induction for probably tuesday as they only let us go 10days over here. because it can take time to get going. just want him out grr!!

have you had any signs? tightenings or anything?

BB busy day!!!

gingersarah · 24/04/2009 08:39

BB, are you still feeling dizzy sometimes? I am wondering if you are resting enough... I am no expert but you do seem to be busy all the time.

That list is insane. Get a one-off cleaner for the house and bathroom (if it is finished) and go out with K and do the shopping in a leisurely way. Buy a cake. Put the nappies in before you go so the cleaner can hang them out while you are out. And put the ironing in a cupboard.

surprisenumber3 · 24/04/2009 08:43

Hi all

Hope you're ok soon2be. Everything has stopped here for me too. contractions had me on all fours and making some kinda strange noises but then DH gave me a lovely back massage and they stopped! Still having a bloody show but that's about it.

Lauren, I wish they would only let me go 10 days over, that would be Monday, but they are not even seeing me to discuss induction until I'm 14 days over! Although they could induce me the same day if necessary.

I really hope something happens today. DH is off work and it would be perfect. They say 24-48 hours for the sweep to work but I feel like I've already had the effects from that.

surprisenumber3 · 24/04/2009 08:44

BB - you can't possibly do all that today Just do the necessary, your visitors will understand.

gingersarah · 24/04/2009 08:47

Signs - not really, some crampy feelings but nothing that feels important. Did the sweep hurt?

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 24/04/2009 08:50

umm i wouldnt say hurt but not nice, not proper pain, very uncomfortable, had a constant period type ache afterwards for a couple of hours and a tiny bit of show, bit disappointing lol

staryeyed · 24/04/2009 08:51

Smutty has had a beautiful baby girl, 8lbs and half lbs born at 5.15pm yesterday (I think I got her text 6am this morning but I have bad reception in my house so she could have sent the message yesterday.

Will text to confirm with her and repost.
