I always liked to think that I'm intelligent enough just not academic but in the last few years my brains just felt fried.

bronze · 23/03/2009 11:27

Smutty. I looked at apprenticeships but they only go up to 25 how crap is that. I think I'm going to try for an unofficial one when I do eventually go back to work

conkertree · 23/03/2009 11:28

i got a 2:1 but could have tried a bit harder - not saying i could have got a first but wish i'd thought about my dissertation topic a bit more carefully etc.

but as bb says - doesnt really matter once you are in a job as that experience counts for more.

BabyBolat · 23/03/2009 11:28

Thanks conker - yes it is finally there and in one week we will all FINALLY be in our birth month!!

Question I am supposed to see the community midwives again next week (the same team as the one that told me the baby was breech etc last week) but I really don't want to - do you think I should just call the hospital and ask if their antenatal team can see me instead (they have seen me up until now with just the community mw in the last month alternating to get me used to them).

Also - do you think if I ask really nicely I could go to the hospital for my Post natal check ups and take the baby to them rather than have that horrible team come to my house???

conkertree · 23/03/2009 11:30

in the night garden is quite a lot of nonsense, and really I'd have preferred not to have ds like it - but the way i feel just now in terms of tiredness etc - if anything will entertain ds even for 10 mins, I will grab that opportunity with both hands

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 23/03/2009 11:31

Bronze - Apprenticeships are the way i went, really good to do actually and not classroom based.

I have 2 NVQ's and if i wanted to do something different again i would quite happily do another (a pain to pay for though unless you can get subsidised by your workplace)

DD had a phase of really loving ITNG but it passed. Then one of my friends gave her an Upsy Daisy book for Xmas. I wasn't happy!

All this talk of degrees and marks... I still don't understand how the system works in this country although I did do a year at uni here. All I can say is I've never had as much fun as in my first 4 years at uni - it was party all the way and sleeping until noon every day but then in Germany it's all a bit more relaxed

Of course then I went on to a job that had bugger all to do with my degree and I'm not sure I am even good at it!

B52s · 23/03/2009 11:31

what man is?

B52s · 23/03/2009 11:34

this thread moves too fast - that was to Springy - tact and diplomacy comment.

Juwesm · 23/03/2009 11:35

Have just had lovely long bath - can it be right, though, that sitting in bath for an hour has left me exhausted? I don't seem to be able to reach perineum any more for massage, so gave it a stern talking to instead. Cervix remains resolutely ignored. Gave lady garden a bit of a trim, in anticipation of maybe, finally, having a stranger examining things down there at some point in the near future (though really more like lopping overhanging branches rather than trimming the herbaceous border ). 9 days left for me (officially )!!!

Springy - ((hugs)) for your friend - you've done everything you can, and what you feel is right, and you'll be there to support her afterwards. That's all that anyone could hope for from a friend!

I am a bit that I am at number 6 (I think) in the table, and I've only been around for about 3 weeks! Please don't anyone do an in depth analysis on actual content - I really don't know what that would say about my state of mind!

Time to find something for second breakfast.....breakfasty loaf cake, or yogurt and honey?

conkertree · 23/03/2009 11:35

schulte - i feel the same - i love uni for all the extra stuff - was quite involved with a musicals society - putting on shows etc - and general uni life.

worked with my law degree for 5 years, and now think i want to do something unrelated - just not sure what but will try the kilts business and see if it works out first.

Schulte · 23/03/2009 11:36

BB go and see the community MW and if she says anything stupid like last time just blow a raspberry at her!

Seriously it's a bit of a faff taking a newborn to hospital for post natal check ups. I had to do it once because it was a weekend and they wanted to check her jaundice had gone and it was a p in the a. Much easier for them to come to you. I'm sure it will be fine.

Schulte · 23/03/2009 11:41

BTW we're getting to the end of this thread... I liked the 'no business like show business' title too!

conkertree · 23/03/2009 11:41

and the mw only comes for a few days anyway as far as i remember. after a week or so, its the health visitor that comes, so you wont have to put up with them for long.

just seen puzzles stats. am quite that I'm at least in the top half of posters (although obviously quite some way behind the most prolific posters).

conkertree · 23/03/2009 11:42

juwesm - love the idea of you giving your perineum a stern talking to - might have to try that.

bronze · 23/03/2009 11:42

Soy am back. trying to do 10 mins housework then 5 mins break and so on. Dds room is done but it was the easiest to start with

BabyBolat · 23/03/2009 11:42
