KittyCatIsGettingFat · 22/03/2009 18:43

Awww Kaz your Twinkies are gorgeous!! really beautiful! Congrats!

Glad to hear we're all making progress re shows and contractions, even if we're not actually popping babies out just yet...

BB - no news from WFH in a while, how is your cervix today? (Can you IMAGINE asking someone that question IRL???)

We've had a lovely relaxed weekend - one of our last on our own, so lots of nesting and snuggling and holding hands and stuff... very cool. Although after seeing the Twinkies I'm quite keen for my own little princess to arrive...

I'm off to cook dinner now - steak & salad, followed by leftover Mothers Day raspberry pavlova - yum yum!

XXX to all the Yummy Mummies and even yummier Incubators!! (soon to be magically transformed into Milk Machines... )

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 22/03/2009 18:46

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 22/03/2009 20:15

Nutty - I vote for sending the DH's after them... it's about time they did some work...

BoffinMum · 22/03/2009 20:17

Hello, I was not off giving birth, DH took us all out for lunch at my favourite pub and all the children behaved beautifully and made a fuss of me. We had a great time. Then the kids wandered up to the garden centre on their own to look at hamster accessories, and DH ravished me in the laundry room (!) I was then ravished again upstairs, before the kids came home. It was brilliant. Proper nookie, none of this 'This lorry is reversing' nonsense, as we found standing up leaning over the worktop much more conducive to the SPD, funnily enough.

Morale was considerably boosted after all this and I managed to do some spring cleaning in the kitchen and finish the laundry from last week, plus file all the instructions for all the domestic appliances in a special file, Anthea Turner style - I think I may be nesting.

Of course then I was in quite a bit of pain, so I took tablets and went upstairs while DH did accounts. We are apparently reasonably solvent, and if we are really good until September, things should be OK. I had been very worried about all that, what with maternity leave affecting pay and so on. We are such a big family and our outgoings are so large, sometimes it feels like a bit of a battle.

Advice for people:

Bronze, lie about when they got the D and V in the first place perhaps? For most places it's 48 hours.

Springy, as a mum I suppose I am slightly more responsible, but only in the sense of being fussy about sleep at night and making sure people eat properly. Otherwise I am the same as I was before being a mum, more or less.

Right, back to reading other posts now - will post again in a minute.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 22/03/2009 20:19

Boffin - what a ravishing day you've had

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 22/03/2009 20:32

Kazkiss, lovely lovely babies. What fun to have twins.

Schulte · 22/03/2009 20:38

Evening ladies

Yes Bronze I also thought you could send them to playgroup anyway - I am sure lots of other mums would and if they are well and back to normal tomorrow then why not? I can't imagine this bug can still be contagious 3 days afterwards?

Springy if you keep bleeding then I'd talk to a MW about it - even if it's only a little bit - I don't think a show would be blood only, it would be mixed with quite a lot of mucus, well mine was anyway.

Hope everyone had a lovely Mother's Day and got spoilt rotten. I have a bag of champagne choc truffles waiting for me upstairs so am off now. xxx

SpringySunshine · 22/03/2009 20:39

Smutts, today you have introduced me to 'Candy Rain' & 'BumFloss' (not physically, obviously!) I know exactly what you mean about BumFloss. Excellent term for it

I just stood up from the dinner table & got half way up before having to collapse back down because of an awful pain in the bottom of my bump. It's subsided a bit now, but OUCH.

Boff, am of your ravishing - although I'm still getting nookie it's very much like painting by numbers these days; it's a nice enough result, but there's something not very exciting about it

SpringySunshine · 22/03/2009 20:43

Schulte, the blood was originally mixed in with what Smutty would call 'Candy Rain', so I'm not sure exactly what I was producing. Now it's pretty much normal discharge, but with a brownish tint to it. It's a lot less now, though - I'm not too worried (I may insist on some more 'standard procedure' sex later as a kind of mercy shag to see what happens...)

Enjoy your truffles

OddEyes · 22/03/2009 20:44

Happy Mother's Day everybody!

Kazkiss - yay for being home and on mother's day too - the perfect gift, well done them for being ready for mummy. lovely pics. hope you sleep well tonight withour too many interuptions.

Nutty, your so good at thread titles, my favs:

Due April 2009: Episode 23 - Come out come out wherever you are!! or we're sending dh after you!

Due April 2009: Episode 23 - Out with the bumps and in with the babies these are the cries of the april ladies!

Glad nesting is keeping some of us preoccupied - helps to move time on me thinks. speaking of which our laundry basket is strangely empty (usually bursting onto floor) and have just finished packing my hospital bag. it has been partially packed for months but with a list on top for dh of extra things to be added - they are all now in and he can grab and go when necessary. Also just watched TENS DVD and tested it. So all ready to go! I know I am being overly hopeful but if she could come tomorrow or tuesday (or coming sat, sun, mon, tues if she had to delay!)then I would be very happy indeed, mainly cause the sooner the smaller and child care for ds wouldn't be an issue.

Update, can't remember when I last did so bear with me if I am repeating myself: scan went well, have report now, she has gotten biggger still 88th percentile now from 83rd at 32 weeks. need to stop the custard cream craving but can't! last MW appointment on Friday - all well, next one at hospital for a sweep with doc monday next. my itching is soo much better though - a miricle as with ds just kept getting worse.

Sorry for mega post but mind active for once. Usually catch up and then am so exhausted I roll over and sleep and dream strange dreams about April mums.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 22/03/2009 20:44

Schulte - ooohhh enjoy the champagne choccies

Springy - painting by numbers nookie isnt that what the karma sutra is for
