lulu..I was walking around town and I was quite taken aback at one point because I walked by a group of young men (uni students) and they looked at me with quite a bit of shock...I was a bit hurt, in the past (I guess a couple of years ago now that I really think about it) I would get rather apraising looks. I caught a profile of myself in a shop window thinking to preen a little and realised I was HUGELY pregnant looking... I laughed to myself thinking it would take a rather 'special' uni student to appreciate such beauty no matter what my age.

Nutty

Bleuravin · 19/02/2009 13:14

Right, I'm in such a mood I've decided I'm going to make a carrot cake and some brownies...would anyone else like me to make them anything?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 19/02/2009 13:17

Blueberry muffin would be great if you can please bleu

OP posts:
Bleuravin · 19/02/2009 13:20

ooh I love blueberry muffins...I've got some frozen berries in the freezer I can use up, and if I set the muffins aside (besides the one for you nutty) I'll have some treats if we have guests this weekend like I've been threatened...

Bleuravin · 19/02/2009 13:39

i only had two eggs left so brownies and muffins are the extent of the baking this afternoon... oh well the carrot cake was only for me really...and heaven knows I don't need to put on anymore weight... The smell of baking treats is such a calming smell

BabyBolat · 19/02/2009 13:45

oh Nooooo!!!

I wanted to get on here this morning to speak to Springy but everything has gone wrong!!

  1. My computer broke so took it to the apple store who took it away from me to 'fix' for a week
  2. DH's computer broke (new 2 weeks ago) so spent an hour in the store getting a new one sorted and transferring files and now spent an hour setting it all up again and I have missed her!!

SPRINGY when you read this - have a fabulous day - everyone has said everything but just enjoy every minute of it! Aaah feel like a proud mum - you will look stunning and will have the most wonderful day i know it and based on your recent posts you have a fabulous marriage ahead of you!!

LuLu is your DD OK?

Bleu, that sucks but try not to worry, there is still some time for him to find another contract - fingers crossed it all turns out ok! which I am sure it will!!

Bleuravin · 19/02/2009 13:52

It is so true, there is quite a bit of time actually and there's always uncertainty with the end of a contract anyhow. It does give us the wonderful possibilty of finding more interesting work for him and maybe the joy of escaping to yet another place.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 19/02/2009 13:59

ok i am very excited, but before i go on ebay and start bidding on stuff ......whaddya think about this...

it's dd's birthday in 3 weeks time shes going to be a big 5 , she doesn't know what she wants present wise (aside from the fairytopia pegasus) so i thought that if i put together maybe a big box of dressing up stuff (already have 2 spanish dancer costumes and a tinkerbell one winging their way to me) and a box of necklaces and bracelets and clips and things together (a mix of kids jewellery and some "grown up" vintage retro jewellery) that that would be quite cool???

i just remember rooting through my mums jewellery box and those aladins cave type oldie world shops loving the sparkly beads, broaches and things.

we did the whole doll and playset thing at christmas so i really just want to get away from all that and do something a bit different. Luckily she doesn't seem bothered about what she wants (more concerned about her party and the fact that she's getting pocket money as of this birthday i think) , but i'm doubting myself.

Bleuravin · 19/02/2009 14:02

Oh! Nutty! That is fantastic! We had a huge box of dress up clothes, from old prom dresses, to fake furs and fairy wings which we really loved playing with...we spent hours dressing up to do plays and things too for each other. Wonderful creative idea!

Does anyone have any personal knowledge about Norway? Dh has been contacted about a possible job there...

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 19/02/2009 14:03

BB - Nooooooooooo a whole week!!!!! do apple not know you have MN commitments and thats a huge amount of time not to be "connected" tis a disgrace!! did you tell them that you had approximately 50 heavily pregnant Fanjo Warriors willing to give them greif if they did not furnish you with fixed laptop IMMEDIATELY?!?

OP posts:
Bleuravin · 19/02/2009 14:06

Lol Nutty, I'm sure our BB needs no help in whipping those apple geeks into gear if need be She'll just write a scathing article about them if they do not deliver as promised.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 19/02/2009 14:19

yeah but Bleu, if you were poor defenceless apple bloke what would you find more scary?

a scathing article or 50 peed off pregnant women after you that may or may not give birth there and then due to the distress of bb not having her pc?

very good point, the way my belly feels now I could perhaps obliged later this evening...

Warm brownies and muffins in 10 minutes ladies!

LuLuBai · 19/02/2009 14:31

BB - don't worry at all. I'm sure Springy will forgive you. And thanks DD seems OK. She was quite clingy and absolutely refused to go out this morning, but we had a lovely morning anhyway. We did finger painting, and then I blew up a big red balloon for her and we ran around chasing it and keeping it in the air and she giggled and giggled and giggled(such simple things!). She's now having a good nap, still pretty much covered in paint and cuddling her balloon.

Nutty a dressing up box sounds absolutely brilliant. When I was about your DDs age used to rummage around jumble sales and car boot sales collecting 'treasures' for my dressing up box. The very, very best thing was a pair of battered silver glitter platform heels (must have been only about a size 3 or something cos they actually fitted quite well). I used to teeter about really feeling like I was a proper princess.

Bleu - I've never been to Norway but I believe it is really beautiful. It would certainly be an adventure to go there for a while.

You are inspiring Bleu. I have all the ingredients for a date & walnut cake....

Bleuravin · 19/02/2009 14:40

I cannot help but to bake when I get upset. Unfortunately it usually leads to eating too...but hey I've been quite good so far this pregnancy...

LuLuBai · 19/02/2009 14:47

That is the risk. If I make a date & walnut cake now, I might accidentally scoff the lot. If I wait until Sunday (which was when I was planning to use the ingredients) DH will eat the lions share. He's a skinny boy and needs feeding up. Me, not so much!

I think I'm going to leave the cake for now and make some leek & potato soup for the freezer instead (it makes me feel more secure knowing there is healthy home cooked food in the freezer in case of some sort of emergency...)

Bleuravin · 19/02/2009 14:50

I've been trying to think what would make some good freezer food for us...I was thinking of buyin a load of chicken and making up some marinated pieces... My thought is varience in the food will be important too

LuLuBai · 19/02/2009 14:56

My freezer usually contains as least a shepherds pie, a macaroni cheese, chilli con carne and a good variety of home made soups.

As I'm at my mothers at the moment I don't have any of that stuff. the freezer is pretty full of random stuff so not much space to play with, but nothing I would fancy eating.

PuzzleRocks · 19/02/2009 15:02

Bleu - The skin between my boobs and bump is really uncomrfotable. It feels like sunburn. My belly is really itchy too.

Yeah where is Barbarelly, she hasn't been on in the last week? Do you think she has loads of last minute organising to do?
And Auld hasn't been on MN for the last two weeks. I hope everything is ok.

Bleuravin · 19/02/2009 15:02

I made a load of soups, but I'm the only one who takes them out to eat... then we have the obligatory pizza and chili... Perhaps I should sit down and give it some proper thought so we're ready on that front too or if DH is commuting a lot on the future I may have some trouble locating food...

PuzzleRocks · 19/02/2009 15:07

Nutty - I love the costume box idea. I can't wait until DD is old enough to appreciate stuff like that.

BabyBolat · 19/02/2009 15:22

Afternoon all

Well yes the apple people would be scared of you lot but as they are doing it for free I may have to be a little calmer - not to worry I have DH's computer for at least the next four days!! Although have spent the whole morning in computer shops and setting things up that I have done no work!

Nutty, I absolutely LOVE the costume box idea -I would have loved it as a little girl (ah to think I could have dressed up like my barbie!)

OK I have no meals made up and my freezer is not full of anything apart from carte d'or... hmmmmm!!!

Oh Bleu apparently Norway is beautiful and look at the job offers coming in already!!!
