that was a lovely post to wake up to and I know exactly what you mean. I never had any qualms about getting married and was more stressed I wouldnt get there and he would think I wasn't coming. Actually he didn't think that as he was the same.
Springy I know you wont read this but I hope everything goes really well for you today.

SpringySunshine · 19/02/2009 09:32

Oooh, I'm so excited for me too! Yay! I'm beginning to get butterflies like a kid on Christmas eve! & I've somehow managed to wangle it so I get to go out & pick up a few things from town (just lunch stuff & whatever, as my family are arriving at midday), whilst DP cleans the flat. What a fair trade

How is everyone?

(bronze, you underestimate my dedication to you ladies - of course I'm here this morning )

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 19/02/2009 09:42

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 19/02/2009 09:46

so springy last minuite checks,do you have...

something old?
Something New? (i'm guessing this is the dress)
Something Borrowed?
Something Blue?

and the all important do you have a garter?

OP posts:
LuLuBai · 19/02/2009 09:51

I didn't wear a garter. My dress was kind of slinky and a garter would have shown through.

LuLuBai · 19/02/2009 09:52

And yup - you are definitely onto a good thing if your soon to be DH is cleaning the house. Worth marrying for that alone.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 19/02/2009 09:53

oooohhhh ok if no garter stockings or hold ups will do

and not its not to early and one wont hurt

B52s · 19/02/2009 09:56

Just want to say yay Springy! You must be so excited. Enjoy the day - it goes so quick - and take some time out and think 'I'm here, this is really happening' and you'll remember those bits clearly. Lots of hugs, even though I'm not the hugging type.

PuzzleRocks · 19/02/2009 10:00

Good morning

Fab post Springy, made me quite emotional. The most important thing in any marriage is communication, if you get that right, everything else is easy. It's all very exciting. And however you behave, laughing, crying, it doesn't matter, it's your day. My cousin laughed throughout hers and it made for a really nice atmosphere.
Wishing you all the best for a wonderful day gorgeous girl.
But get your arse back here as soon as possible.

SpringySunshine · 19/02/2009 10:01

Actually, my oldest friend sent me a really lovely parcel of stuff of that theme. It had a gorgeous letter in it about how proud she is of me (which made me cry!) & about how she didn't think that I'd need help with the 'proper' bits & pieces, but she'd send:

a enlarged copy of a ridiculous entry I wrote in her blue diary in 2001 (something old), a really cute blue babygro (something new), & a blue bottle of her favourite perfume which I'll wear tomorrow (something borrowed).

More traditionally, I have a blue garter, my dress, & an old family brooch which was my great-grandmother's & has been worn by every woman in the family at her wedding since (it's a bit ugly, but I'll pull it off ).

PuzzleRocks · 19/02/2009 10:03

Aw Lulu, that's rough, does she have them often?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 19/02/2009 10:05

oooh you're all set and ready to go

OP posts:
LuLuBai · 19/02/2009 10:08

Oh Springy brilliant - you have been well looked after.

conkertree · 19/02/2009 10:10

yay springy - so excited for you - dont know why but the bit that brought a tear to my eye in the last 100 posts since yesterday was the bit about you wearing the family brooch. i love things that tie generations together like that. hope you have a fabulous wedding day (and today and honeymoon) - and as someone else said - take a few moments every so often to stop and just remember things cause it really does go so quickly.

and as for the rest of you... can't possibly open those links as am at work, but having seen pig's penis's (pl?) before, I dont think i want to anyway. think that might just be too much for work to cope with if they ever do check my history

all these heads engaging - its getting exciting. wonder how many threads we will get through when we all start popping.

LuLuBai · 19/02/2009 10:21

Puzzle no, she's never had anything like this before. It was hideous. Went on and on and even though her eyes were open we couldn't get her to snap out of it. She was lashing out and shrieking but we couldn't 'connect' with her. Really very much like she was being haunted.

Been doing a lot of reading up this morning. Going to take her for plenty of fresh air today and then and earlyish night tonight.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 19/02/2009 10:24

LuLu - ((hugs)) to you, sounds really scary for all of you, hope everything is ok tonight xx

Oh dear, DH just emailed saying his contract has not been renewed...We may be in for some rough (er) times if something cannot be lined up quickly...
Off you catch up between worrying my hair and biting my fingernails...
(Morning all)

conkertree · 19/02/2009 10:27

that does sound scary lulu - i know i used to sleep walk a lot as a child, and my parents would take me back to bed but they couldnt get any reaction out of me so i wasnt really awake.

conkertree · 19/02/2009 10:28

ooh poor you bleu - what is it he does (sorry if I should know from previous threads).

conkertree · 19/02/2009 10:28

ooh poor you bleu - what is it he does (sorry if I should know from previous threads).

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 19/02/2009 10:33

Sorry to hear that Bleu, do you think he will be able to get something lined up?

OP posts:
Bleuravin · 19/02/2009 10:45

Yeah Springy! your wedding post reminded how I felt at my wedding I messed up the wrods a little in the vows and said I will laugh AT, instead of laugh WITH which made everyone giggle because the girls in my family have been known to be terrible teases with their men. We still smaile about it now. (It's my anniversary today btw...4 years)
What fun. Enjoy your day(s).

Bleuravin · 19/02/2009 10:48

DH is an IT programmer/contractor. He's been working for the gov. since just before we've got married. He's particularly annoyed because the person they are keeping on instead of him is actually (while a really nice person and actually a friend of ours now) not very good at the particular aspect of the job which DH does. (we think there is a possiblity that they may be cheaper however)
