Well that was cutting it a bit fine...

DebitheScot · 21/08/2008 15:22

thanks potxola. You should tell them that you have recommended them to several people and ask for some commission!
Not sure why they need to come in packs of 120 though, that seems a bit excessive. So Dr Potxola How many do I need to take and when do I take the first one?

DebitheScot · 21/08/2008 15:33

hopefully I didn't do perenial massage last time and had a 9lb 1oz baby with only a tiny bit of internal tearing. My friend did do the massaging and tore really really really badly and ended up in theatre being sown back up. (might also be to do with the fact that she is smaller than me and had a 9lb 3oz baby)
So I don't know if it really works.

potxola · 21/08/2008 15:42

DebitheScott sorry I didn't explain myself The 200C it is to do with the strengh of the arnica no the number of tablets. You start taking them right after the delivery, they disolve in the tongue. You can't eat or drink anyhting other than water 20 minuter prior and after.
The way to take them is : take it 4 times a day for the first 3 days and then take it 3 times a day for the next 4 days. After that you can carry on if you want to. It does not harm you or you milk, apparently it is very benefitial for the baby. Hope it helps.

DebitheScot · 21/08/2008 15:51

I'm sure it said at the top of the link that they come in packs of approx 120 tablets. You don't have to apologise, it's clearly just that I'm too lazy to do the research myself!
Thanks again for the help.

potxola · 21/08/2008 15:54

I forgot to say. I am having a good day.I told you all I managed to find a nursery, very close to the hospital, for my son to go the day of my C-section (we decided against nannies and childminders).
Well this morning we took ds to this nursery and stayed for a couple of hours and he loved it!!!!!.He had never been with anyone else but me other than the 2.5 hrs in nursery everyday. I know next wednesday he will stay in this nursery for longer than that because I don't know when the surgery will take place, but I am SO pleased I don't have to worry about him while they cut me open. I am sure now I will be relaxed and it will help the bonding with Lorea.

My dh will go to pick him up as soon as I feel up to move a bit and look after the baby. They then will go to buy flowers (that was my ds's idea, because her name means the flower)and come to meet her!!!!!! I will probably cry at this point.

I am so close to achieve my dream: having two kids at my age.I really thought it was not going to happen.
Anyway I am happy today.

potxola · 21/08/2008 15:57

Oh! I thought you said 200.Where is my head at the moment? Thinking of next wednesday! You are probaby right and there are 120 tablets.
You can always keep them in your first aid kit and have them later on when you need them as they help with any kind of bruising.

Eandz - your doctor...!!! I think he is downright dangerous to suggest this. But on the bright side I think that with all the sex you are having you will probably induce yourself before too long!

Carrieon - so sorry to hear that you have been so horribly sick. Hope you are feeling better now. I am also giving birth to an octopus with ADHD. I saw the midwife yesterday and she said that from now on I have to count baby movements each day from 9am, until I have had at least 10 in a day. (This is apparently how they know the placenta is still healthy enough to support the baby.) So I explained that the wriggles tend to come in sessions, so does that 5 mins of gymnastics x tennis count as one or fifty? She said it is each individual movement - so I must be getting about a thousand per day! What sort of monster is this?

Thanks starlight I will remember that. I won't be able to move when he comes to the hospital and that could be a bit traumatic. I can imagine him asking me to get up the bed and having a tantrum when I say no. We will see. The baby has a present for him ready to give it to him. It is a Thomas the tank video in Spanish, that will make him want to go home to watch it and hopefuly he will be ok about us staying in hospital.

Eandz you go girl! Good for you having sex - perfectly normal and natural. I wouldn't worry about not actually getting the massage that was intended - you and your stress levels will benefit way more from a bit of 'wild thing'!!

[waddles off feeling slightly as DP is away...]

Ponymum · 21/08/2008 16:23

Starlight - yes, it looks like that, but mine's a c-section so I have no advantage either way! By the way, even if no-one else noticed I appreciaed your attempt to impose a sense of order on our list!! I was itching to put the three 19-ers in alphabetical order but that would mean bumping you to third place, which I just couldn't do!

Anyway, I have had enough alphabetical discussions in the last week as DH and I have been filling our giant new bookshelf which takes up the entire wall of a very large room. I concede, he is even more OCD than me on this! And yes, how sad are we? We move into a new house and can't sleep until we have our "library" in perfect order, but our clothes and shoes are still in boxes...

Pitufina · 21/08/2008 16:50

imoscarsmum - Not boring at all. It's good to know how to do the underlining properly. I assumed you just put it around the whole phrase. Thanks.

hopefully · 21/08/2008 17:00

Ponymum when we last moved I think the first thing I did was alphabetise my 'library', although it is also divided into fiction, non-fiction (general), non-fiction (travel), equestrian, and sailing sections.

I am watching the silliest sport in the world on the olympics at the moment. Appears to centre around dancing in a gymnastic fashion with a piece of rope. I am sure it is v difficult, and the girls are extremely bendy and talented, but it looks a little comical!

I think having sex is probably better for your perineum than a massage anyway. you go girl!

oh, yes, and frequent sex in late pg does seem to help things along.

well done you 2 bunny rabbits!

Ha ha, I'm glad you filled this list in before me pidge as I was having trouble working out how many days it was!

notcitrus - thanks for the message about the Streatham meet up. Not sure I can make it as I'm still working and I've got a midwive apt in the morning so can't leave work early. Maybe next time...

Hope everyone is well. I am too busy at work at the mo to log on much but only 2 weeks left - yay!!!

jennylindinha · 21/08/2008 17:52

oh bugger, the underline didn't work for me either..

lollipopmother · 21/08/2008 18:00

God, I'm feeling slightly pukey at the thought of sex! Totally haven't had it for about 4 months, my DP put his foot down because it was 'freaky' as 'there's someone watching us'! Haha! I have to say that I was only really doing it to make him happy so I was a bit relieved when he decided to give it a rest. Now I can't think of anything worse than sex - well actually yes I can, perenial massage!!

Oh my God ladies, I know that in a couple of weeks I will have no dignity, my legs will be in the air, I will have pood on the midwife and there will be about 10 strangers looking at my fanjo, but Jesus Christ, perineal massage sounds just so very wrong!!

lollipopmother · 21/08/2008 18:03

Oh, and for whoever was asking about how much raspberry leaf tea to have - I have been taking approx 6 capsules a day for the last couple of weeks, it says 6 a day on the bottle so I've gone with that and I haven't suffered from any Braxton Hicks or adverse effects.

carrieon & womb I've come to keep you company at the end of the list
hope you're feeling a bit better carrieon

When should you start taking raspberry leaf tea? Have started perineal massage but it's pretty uncomfortable and hard work. I'm a bit worried as my mum tore pretty badly and I've already inherited her tendency for widespread stretchmarks... gotta be worth a try.

Had an amusing MW visit yesterday where I got a serious prodding - she couldn't quite work out which bit was head and which was bum! I told her it was head down at the scan last week and I think I would have noticed if it had somersaulted since then! But she had to get someone more senior to have another good prod... but definitely head down

Hello everyone, sorry for not posting lately but have been busy with a very whingy baby. She was refusing feeds yesterday and crying constantly which was really upsetting, but after a good night of sleeping on my tummy, Katie is now back to her happy self. She still gets upset if not held constantly so I'm very thankful I got a nice sling to put her in.

Potxola, how exciting that your c-section is getting close, and it's great that you're happy with the arrangements for your ds. I was very emotional when I saw my two girls together.
