oops, sorry debi I'm having trouble using my brain today

hopefully · 18/07/2008 16:00

Gosh, I have no idea where to meet. I'll be coming up by train, either coming into Victoria or London Bridge, but I'm happy to get the tube/amble at extreme slowness to somewhere!

Anyone got a recommendation? I'm thinking somewhere like a pizza express so it's child friendly if anyone wants to bring current offspring...

My trains come into either London Bridge, Waterloo or Charing Cross - am happy to walk a bit from one of those but would rather not get the tube. Don't know if there is anywhere suitable on the South Bank as that is nice for a stroll and is generally buggy friendly for those bringing children.

notcitrus · 18/07/2008 19:06

I suggested previously the Trafalgar Square Pizza Express on the Strand opposite Charing Cross station - it's probably easier to find than anywhere on the South Bank. And I can't walk from Waterloo to the restaurants on the South Bank - too far.

The 11 or 24 buses will get to Trafalgar Square from Victoria.

MummyToOneForNow · 18/07/2008 20:11

I know the Charing Cross Pizza Express - only a few tables on the ground floor but nice and spacious downstairs - would be happy to go for that if it suits everyone else.

lollyheart · 18/07/2008 20:26

Im ok with that.

Is it easy to drive to with parking? or would it be easier to get a train could i avoid the underground and walk or get a cab from waterloo station?

Just adding myself in...
Can go pretty much anywhere as I'll have my bike!

notcitrus · 18/07/2008 21:57

lolly - Traf Square is inside the congestion charge zone but parking spaces should be available nearby in Whitehall Place, I think.

If it's a nice day, walking from Waterloo over the river to Embankment and then up Villiers St (Pizza Express then in front of you) is lovely - or get train from Waterloo East to Charing Cross.

Might be an idea to go for a table downstairs as most of us will be trotting to the loos quite a bit...

lollyheart · 18/07/2008 22:03

Thanks notcitrus

debithescot i think i will get the train we could get the same one if you wanted to travel together.

I get free train travel as dh is a train driver

Jenbot · 19/07/2008 11:36

Oh poop, I can't do the 13th.

It's the day before A level results come out and there's nooooooo chance I'll get a lunch break, or a tea break probably.

Have fun though, I'll try to make it next time!!

getting the train is fine by me lollyheart and yes it'd be good to get the same train and try to find each other on the train. Are you going to bring your dcs? I'll have to bring ds as childminder is on hol that week but that's ok.

lollyheart · 19/07/2008 14:45

Debithescot i will be bringing the dcs.
i will face book you my mobile number so we can arrange things when its all confirmed.

we will have to make a code word up so when the train is coming into your station i will shout it out the window so you can find me only joking .

DebitheScot · 19/07/2008 15:16

cool. I'm getting excited about this!

slinkiemalinki · 19/07/2008 21:12

Hi all, I am working that day so don't think I will make it to/from city and eat a pizza in time, but maybe next time!

slinkiemalinki · 19/07/2008 21:13

Oh and on holiday 3-10 Aug so that's out too . Hopefully you will all have a fab time and rearrange another!

splishsplosh · 20/07/2008 19:17

I'd love to come on 13th, but depends if I'm able to go for my holiday / house rewiring escape plan in time to be back by then.

Alaro · 21/07/2008 16:20

Any other dates/times/places for our meet up if 13th isn't any good? I don't count, I can pretty much do anytime/any place/any where. Perhaps I should name change to the Martini Girl?

eandz · 21/07/2008 23:03

august 3rd?

Alaro · 23/07/2008 14:04

Where exactly are we with the meet-up? Is there a popular date for everyone? Feel mean if some people want to come, but can't make dates suggested.

eandz · 23/07/2008 14:17

i think there are two alternate days:

one is set for the 13th and the other is 9th or 10th as a weekend meet up for anyone else who may have missed it, or wants to come again.

i think it's definitely going to be at a pizza express-- a favorite vote is for charring cross.

Alaro · 25/07/2008 12:44

Everything OK with me, so how do we know when/where is for definite? Do we need to post on the other thread to gee everyone along? Just concerned that time is moving fast and it will be the 9th/10th/13th before we know it.

lollyheart · 25/07/2008 12:56

Does someone want to be brave and book it on the 13th for about 12 by the time we have all said hello and sat down it would just be about right. i take it you can book it?

There are 10 of us plus our dcs im bringing my two if anyone else are bringing theirs could they just add them to the list so we have the right numbers.
