Anyone else want to moan with me?

Due January 19th and I am sooo over being pregnant. This is my 4th and final baby and I'm just ready for him to be here now!

My ribs ache from him kicking them and I have horrible round ligament pain from his wriggling😭

@EllieRosesMammy what size clothes have u packed? I need to pull my finger out and get it done. Been getting alot of pains in my stomach and lower back today which is making me 🫣 if she does come we have nothing ready! Have u had any twinges or signs yet? X

I think I've packed mostly "first size" but now thinking about it they probably won't fit if he's gonna be big :| may have to repack it with 0-3 months instead 😂

Ooh exciting, when did you deliver with your other 3?

Ive been having cramping, braxton hicks and lightning pains for 2+ weeks now. Regularly too. And I keep thinking ooh maybe this is it... And it never is 😂 midwife tomorrow and then another scan on Friday to see what the plan is! We will either stay on track for induction on the 12th or I'll be told I'm delivering earlier (my bet is the 5th) x

@EllieRosesMammy yes that's what I'm thinking but obviously my babys on the smaller scale so might have to rush out and buy tiny baby! I have first size and newborn.
My first was spontaneous at 41 weeks.
2nd and 3rd induced at 39ish weeks. So I have a few weeks yet going of those.
Yes lightening crotch has definitely increased 🤣 probably same as u nothing will happen.
I have midwife Tuesday and my next scan isn't until the 9th so don't think anything will happen for me before then.
How did u find induction? Did you get a choice about which one u wanted? I don't think I would want the drip again that was excruciating! My last one I had just one pessary and that was alot better x

Aww bless! I've just been through my bag and added some 0-3 clothes 😂

No way! My 1st was 41 weeks and 2nd and 3rd were also 39 weeks!!

I found being induced really painful tbh. With my 1st I had an awful midwife who kept telling me "it doesn't hurt, it's just meant to be uncomfortable" - nope it hurt!! We did the 24 hour pessary and nothing happened, so did it again and nothing happened. Broke my waters and nothing happenend. So they finally put me on that oxy drip and my contractions were very close together and painful right from the start. After 10 hours of that BS and very little dilation I gave up and took the epidural - 7 hours later she was finally born (17 hours total labour) 🤦🏻‍♀️

With my 2nd and 3rd they used the 6 hour gel, and with both it didn't really do anything. So once again they broke my waters - which as you can guess, also didn't do anything 😂 so back on that drip I went. 2nd I laboured for about 7 hours before asking for the epidural, then she finally came 6 hours after that (13 hour labour)

By the time we got round to the 3rd we realised that the drip works best for me if they turn it up and down a bit, until they find the number my body responds to (think it was about a 12). My labour was still 10 hours and it took 8.5 of them hours just to get to 3cm, then all of a sudden I very quickly dialed to 10cm. It's really funny because I hate the vaginal exams, and they told me they'd be back round at 10am to examine me again - my response was "you won't because I'll have her out by then" - she was born at 9:59am 😂

I didn't get a choice on which method of induction I had nope, however I didn't think to ask! I'm sure if you requested a certain method they'd do it (unless they had good reason not to) ❤️

@EllieRosesMammy haha now your prepared for any size!

My2nd was the worst and longest labour. Also the drip it was just contractions on top of one another. A whole different level.of pain! Then I read stories on here of hospitals who give epidurals as soon as they go on the drip! I have never had one only had gas and air with all of mine. My last birth I didn't even manage to get that in time it was 16 mins start to finish.

Only thing I like about induction is the planning and you know when your going in and you can sort childcare etc. The thought of going spontaneous this time is terrifying me with how quick my last birth was. Having visions of being home alone with my youngest and not being able to get to hospital in time 🫣 .

Hopefully your labour will be quicker this time! And you can avoid the drip 🤞 part of me wants it over now but then part of me is scared of the birth even though iv done it 3 times 😅 x

I've been told that induced labours are so much more painful than going spontaneously - obviously I have nothing to compare it to! 😂

Induced and on that drip with just gas and air is so bloody painful isn't it?! That's what I did last time and I'm gonna try do it again - simply because my 3rd was my only labour I didn't have a post partum hemmorage with and the only thing I did differently was not have the epidural!

I know what you mean about the planning, that's my favorite thing about being induced honestly 😂 I'm very lucky that my mam is 10 mins away for childcare if I do go spontaneously, but I still don't like the idea of it 🤦🏻‍♀️

They had a feel of baby and said "he's definetely big and his head is definetely low down isn't it?!" 😂 no prizes for that one. I've barely been able to walk today with how bad my lightning pains have been, I've got a feeling this scan on Friday will show he's above 4kg and they'll reccomend even earlier induction 😁 x

@EllieRosesMammy you never know he might suprise you! 🫢 not to bad it's nothing consistent just alot of back pain and lightening crotch and random bump pains. I think I will go to term unless I get induced 🤣 x

Aw bless you! They've moved my induction to this Sunday as he's measuring over 9lb already😅 I had a little panic attack in the car I won't lie. Got tomorrow to get everything sorted! X

Lottiexx3 · 04/01/2025 14:24

Aww good luck, baby will be here soon I bet you’re so excited but nervous. If it helps I found my inductions easier than spontaneous labour. I have turned 38 weeks today and oh my gosh this little man need to make an appearance! Between pregnancy insomnia, cramp, heartburn, restless legs and pelvic pain I’m having the worst braxton hicks and period pains ever. Also (sorry TMI I can’t stop having bowel movements, the piles 😫) I had a morning to myself today, no partner no kids and I actually just slept all morning, I feel slightly human again so I’m going to finish packing the last few bits for hospital and getting his pram sorted between tip runs and housework. I have definitely started nesting, the only reason I would remember to water the houseplant.

Thank you I will do! There's actually a whole blog on here somewhere of my last birth with our 3rd daughter, where i was mum's-netting from start to finish🤣 I had the gas and air in one hand and my phone in the other to keep me occupied haha x

Aww I can relate to all of that!! Apart from the bowel movements, I'm actually kind of jealous of you because I've gone the opposite way 🤣 I've also been doing tip runs and house work haha! The joys of only having Christmas recently ey 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hi! Yes sorry I completely forgot to update! We had our baby on the 5th at 8:47pm 😁 got straight in for induction on the morning, they checked me and I was already at 3cm so they decided to go ahead with just breaking my waters instead of inducing. Waited 4 hours and nothing really happened so they put me on the drip (awful as always) but he was born that evening! 💙 Weighed 7lb 14oz in the end x

@EllieRosesMammy lovely news congratulations 💙 aww he wasn't huge then! That's the thing I hate about growth scans they are never accurate. How are you feeling now? X

Lottiexx3 · 10/01/2025 08:21

Massive congratulations, hope you’re both doing well x

Wintersmum · 11/01/2025 21:47

Huge congratulations to you and I hope that you are both doing well. I am due with my first child in the next four weeks, she is currently breach so we are really hoping that she turns soon! Any advice on how to handle labour pains would be great, many thanks x

Skl2021 · 14/01/2025 10:43

@Lottiexx3 you still hanging on 🤭 I'm so over this now!

Lottiexx3 · 14/01/2025 11:10

I’m in triage as we speak. Had a sweep yesterday and waters and contractions started this morning but they are blood tinged so being monitored and waiting to see the doctor. Any signs your end? X

Skl2021 · 14/01/2025 12:02

@Lottiexx3 how exciting hopefully not long for you now! Keep getting alot of pressure and lightening and back ache and thigh ache but comes and goes 🙄 you think something is starting then it stops. The waiting is killing me. I'm used to being induced so the not knowing when it's happening is getting to my head! X

Wintersmum · 14/01/2025 12:48

It's exciting that you've been induced, at least you know things are moving along slowly. Hopefully there's not too much longer to wait now, wishing you all the best. I've been having a lot of Braxton hicks which have been really uncomfortable but really looking forward to meeting the baby soon x

Lottiexx3 · 14/01/2025 17:46

I was the same for days, kept thinking this pregnancy would never end then had a sweep at 39+2 and had very little hope of it working. I’m on the unit now and had an epidural placed as I was still 2cm despite almost back to back contractions. It’s going to be a long night I think.
good luck ladies, I’m sure you won’t be waiting much longer x
