CaptainCaveman · 20/03/2008 21:26

WEll, better go and keep dh company for a bit before I go to bed, can't have him complaining I spend more time talking to cyber friends than I do to him....however, he's out tomorrow night so am free to chat away then!

Hope you all sleep well and have fun tomorrow x

PetitFilou1 · 20/03/2008 21:26

VG Sorry still calling you VS - am too tired . GP was a total git and did apologise but only in that 'I suppose I'll apologise kind of way' - he never sent me for a scan at the time.

CC I hate it too. I normally head to the soft play places. Today all we managed was the shops (indoors) and did making things out of the recycling, tv, making fairy cakes, more tv, plasticine and going through those cbeebies magazines you can buy. YAAAAAWN!

PetitFilou1 · 20/03/2008 21:29

VG Enjoy your ss and good luck with the scan
I'm also off to bed. See you anon...

dizzychixies · 20/03/2008 21:31

VG lovely, what time is the scan, are you going to find out the flavour (or if memory serves me correctly from the list I think not?)

night CC petit I hope you're with someone new this time round, he sounds bloody awful

CaptainCaveman · 21/03/2008 09:11

Morning - well the weather says it will be peeing it down but the skies outside are currently clear blue and cloudless . Makes no odds atm as dh is still fast asleep . I suppose I could go and start the ironing, but then again, maybe not!

Still don't know what to do today - am looking for inspiration.....

dizzychixies · 21/03/2008 09:43

morning everyone

here

am farking ill again, cannot believe it - how many times have I been on here whinging about the same sodding thing

have just sent dh to shop for more lucozade
getting seriously fed up now

all suggestions gratefully received and will not be offended if you insist I wear surgical mask from now on

TwilightSurfer · 21/03/2008 13:12

Dizzy I've had tummy upset every morning for three days now. I'm hoping it's just stress caused by all the stuff going on with me and DD. But it might not be. I "could" be hormonal. I've also had MS ever morning as well. Maybe there's something at this midpoint that's knocking our systems out of whack.

Captain how about a house-wide scavanger hunt for DS. Followed by a trip to get pizza and maybe a splash in puddles along the way.

Afternoon all, just popping in quick - am away tomorrow for a night (woooooo!) and then on Wednesday for 2 nights for DSs Birthday so won't be around (not that I have much past week anyway). Should be packing so will catch up this evening if I am in x Hope you are all well. Dizzy {{hugs}} x

Feel abit mean now - all of you {{{HUGS}}} x

dizzychixies · 21/03/2008 14:47

oh LofW thank you - don't come too near though as have decided am officially diseased lol

have a wonderful time and enjoy ds' birthday

Buckets · 21/03/2008 15:25

PF I've had a spotty neck/decolletage since just before AF was due, I remembered thinking at the time maybe it was a sign (never had spots in prev pregs.) The top of my back is the worst, I know you shouldn't touch them but I can't help fiddling with them.

VG hope you've had a good day out.

alittlebitshy · 21/03/2008 15:39

YOu've been so busy chatting. I popped in and read last night but too tired, nauseous to post!

Dd and I have been to a Good Friday craft afternoon. was really good, though dd wanted me to leave here there (miss independent) which i was ready to do cos I know she'll behave well if i'm NOT there. then the mum of a friend of hers asked if i would stay with her little one who is not even 4.5 yet, and i felt i couldn't say no. Dd was most annoyed at me (tantrumed ). I wanted to come home and go to bed.. but i couldn't .

On top of morning sickness i've got heartburn too now. Think I'm not going to do an blooming and glowing during this pregnancy .

Poor dizzy being ill again

longwayfromhome · 21/03/2008 18:34

Hello again everyone, and much sympathy re: the D&V. The hot cross buns were a moderate success but they did take 3 hours to cook, so not a quick and easy recipe.

Here's a question for people who already have children. Do you think that it's better to buy a "from birth" buggy or a pram and then a "from 3 months" buggy? Not really buying anything yet, but just wondering what people think?

Buckets · 21/03/2008 18:51

I absolutely love my Mclaren Vogue from birth buggy - really light, turns on a dime and fits in the boot of a Corsa or Micra. Been in constant use for 5yrs and not a single problem with it. Looking for a travel system now for this baby though as we need a carseat and the Mclaren is looking a bit dingey. Oh and it fits a buggyboard no probs.
I guess it depends if you want to see your baby's face that much - I always felt the break benefited both of us LOL.

CaptainCaveman · 21/03/2008 19:38

Hey LWFH - I've been pondering the same question myself. We got a travel system from birth with ds and it's still in use now - Inglesina Zippy. I love it. Folds easily WITH ONE HAND!!, and manouveres like a dream. Hmmmm, do I get a new one or stay with my Zippy.....I have a carry cot which was barely used with ds so might give that some airing then look for a newer buggy around 6 months. The chair for the zippy though is a great buggy tooo. Ohhh, decisions decisions....

Been to Meadowhall today (shopping!) - bought a new pair of trousers from M&S maternity, and a top & cardigan from mamas & papas. Cool.

Hope you've had fun today too - it's bloody freezing outside now!!

CaptainCaveman · 21/03/2008 19:41

this and this
lovely.

Just going to fish ds out of the shower...

VintageGardenia · 21/03/2008 19:52

Hi guys, not on for long but to say hello.

Dizzy that is dreadful you are still suffering like that. Surely it cannot be preg related? How is it so hard to get hold of GP, surely there is after-hours emerg. number over a long weekend like this? I know it sounds preachy and you don't need anyone telling you but you do need every ounce of strength, specially you as you already have a family to cope with as well as the bump. I mean that in a kind, not a cross way - you have to look after yourself. Get to a doctor. Even if just to be told what to eat. DS had it last week before heading off on holiday & he ate so little I eventually made him take a multivitamin with water, and when I brought him to doc she said are you nuts giving him multivitamin pill, that's going to be way too hard on his gut, flat Lucozade Sport till he feels like something else, then plain carbs to start off with. Do go, dizzy.

Shattered today and a bit weepy for some reason. Had a great scan, the ultrasounder or whatever you call her said all the organs, etc seemed fine, growth was fine, and probable reason for not feeling much movement was position of placenta.

DS who has gone snowboarding with his dad is coming back on Sunday, yay! I spoke to them both today & they've had a brilliant time though it sounds very challenging. Anyway back for eggs and hugs on Sunday.

I can't contribute to the buggy discussion - not having one at moment (DS would be a bit at one!), and having done no research, but will lurk with interest to see what others have to say. I was in Mothercare today and they have a series of evening talks in different branches telling you what you need to get and what to look out for in e.g. a car seat, buggy etc but it's in their interest to flog the gear, I suppose! Anyway I thought we might trundle along to one. We've also been advised to do antenatal classes from 25 weeks, seems early to me but happy enough to go along.

VintageGardenia · 21/03/2008 19:55

Oooo CC I love the gear. Esp the ribbony cardigan, I'd wear that even unpregnant! You do have nice taste in threads.

Buckets · 21/03/2008 20:10

Good news VG. You ought to go out for dinner to celebrate while you have no childcare issues.

VintageGardenia · 21/03/2008 20:20

Thanks Buckets. Am going to bed with a book and a cup of tea, like a middle-aged bore!

CaptainCaveman · 21/03/2008 20:30

Great scan news VG! Yippee. Can't wait til ours, only 17 days to go....

I have a similarly wild night planned - dh in the pub, ds in bed listening to Mr Men CD and I will be watching The Passion at 9pm with a glass of wine!

Dizzy am sorry to hear you are feeling pants. Has the vomiting and diarrohea stopped yet? If GP no use you could always try you mw?

VG do you have an anterior placenta? Apparently I do, and did with ds too. The position of it might explain why I'm not feeling so much movement at this stage as I did with ds.

TwilightSurfer · 21/03/2008 22:14

Longwayfromhome, I've been buggy hunting for more than a year now. I actually had it picked out wwwaaayyy before I was with child. I had a Graco travel system with DD. It did the trick wonderfully from birth on. I only recently gave it away (very dirty/used). This time I've select the Joovey. A friend has one and it is excellent when you have an older child and a baby. And today we stopped in our local BabiesRUs to check out carseats. I've selected a Peg Perego...which works with the Joovey (we tried it in the store with DD riding tandem). Here's links to see thestroller and carseat.

Captain, I love the tops!! You have very good taste.

VG glad you had an excellent scan. I'm as all my scans are official over apart from the 3D scan (if we do it). I'm considering playing the worried pregnant lady card at my next visit to see if I can land another scan.

Dizzy {{hugs}}.
