dizzy...you do know that's a joke right???

dizzychixies · 19/03/2008 21:37

CC really, I was just off checking through the post to see if ours had come

TS am delighted to hear she's all better again - nothing worse than seeing your lo not well, bless them

TwilightSurfer · 19/03/2008 21:37

Uh oh I can't sustain a conversation about the Tuscan countryside........ Should I be worried?

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 19/03/2008 21:39

My husband drew a line of comparision between Bridget Jones and Pride & Prejudice so I guess he's far from working class.

OP posts:
VintageGardenia · 19/03/2008 21:40

He's truly fab! DP had a bad eye from birth, lots of ops etc, right into adulthood, and if I say so myself he's the most handsome chap you could meet. But you are lucky, or ds is, that his self-corrected, saves a lot of bother and some self-consciousness. No trace of it in that pic anyway!

TwilightSurfer · 19/03/2008 21:41

Is it really a joke Captain?? WARNING: Slow Pregnant Lady Reading

CaptainCaveman · 19/03/2008 21:41

You sounded so convinced by it dizzy...... WE got ours last week btw

Right, gotta go to bed as I'm knackered. Catch all you ladies tomorrow.

Libbysister - forgot to say your hair looks marvellous darling.

mwah mwah mwah

VintageGardenia · 19/03/2008 21:41

Hi TS oo I could handle a chilli dog... will have to make do with a Wagon Wheel (don't tell the food police) and a cup of Earl.

VintageGardenia · 19/03/2008 21:43

Night night Cap'n. Me too for the chop I think. Sleep tight all and enjoy your wild dreams TS!

Talk tomorrow.

dizzychixies · 19/03/2008 21:43

lol @ wagonwheel, have had a creame egg and packet of walkers ready salted for dinner - that'll put me right on the road to recovery eh?!?

night CC have a good sleep, won't be far behind you

dizzychixies · 19/03/2008 21:44

night VG

TwilightSurfer · 19/03/2008 21:44

dizzychixies · 19/03/2008 21:49

oohh TS what is he bringing? I had to borrow some bisto from neighbours tonight as half way through cooking tea I realised the tub in cupboard was completely empty, think dd has poured it out as usual and put it back empty - wee menace!

longwayfromhome · 19/03/2008 21:55

Hello all, and goodnight to those on the other side of the Atlantic(!) Still no KK doughnuts, creme eggs or wagonwheels here, but on up-side a five day weekend starts tonight. No hot cross buns either, but I might try to cook some tomorrow. Bump is fat and kicking. I hope that everyone is well.

libbyssister · 20/03/2008 09:08

I had a dream last night that I had my scan and they told me it was a girl and I was beside myself with excitement. I didn't realise that I wanted a girl?! And then I woke up and figured it's bound to be a boy...

SOOO looking forward to the long Easter weekend. I was finishing off DS's Easter bonnet at 7am I think his nursery just do these things to torture the parents. I stuck on some tissue flowers and chicks, plopped it on his head and DS said just like David Walliams "I look like a laaady" .

TwilightSurfer · 20/03/2008 12:09

Dizzy I ended up with a burrito (not a chilidog) that REALLY didn't sit well in my belly overnight. It did give me crazy dreams but I can't remember any of them now.

Before bed LO danced for a least an hour. DH was able to lay down with me and feel the little feet tap dancing on my belly. It made me feel so good because she's been very quiet this week. She even started the morning off with a little jig.

DD on the other hand is still in her bed screaming for me to turn the light off (it's SUNSHINE so I can't). She's NOT a morning person.

Holiday weekend begins a 5pm today. We need the break sooooooo bad. The weather looks like it's going to cooperate and be beautiful too. Wishing all a wonderful Easter Holiday.

Hey kids
DH & I have been invited out to a mexican restaurant on Saturday yippee! And, even better, I tried on my Lily Allen-esque strapless cocktail dress and it looks amazing with a bump! Will tone it down with leggings and cardi but I will still look hot hot hot (even more so after the chilli tacos I've pre-ordered.) God I am loving spicy food right now, got some yummy chorizo bits from Sainsburys last night, nearly finished them by lunchtime. And the box of posh 'Fru' carrot cake bites. And the posh coriander naan breads on 2for1.
Am making a Mumsnet recipe tonight, 'Tim's Pasta Bake' - will report back for your delectation.

HazieAndBaby · 20/03/2008 19:18

VintageGardenia - I'm so with you on wanting DP's legs! Er, not yr DP's obviously (although I'm sure they're nice!) My DH has fab legs and thighs, I'm so jealous! Our little one has great legs in the scan pic and don't know whether to be relieved he/she didn't get ours or jealous that I don't have them too! Also, was PMSL at yr poetry (in a good way), very well done!
Well done to CaptainCaveman on your rhyme too! Check you all, what a talented lot. Not sure about all the pyromania you're all taking part in at the moment though! I'm more of a flooder - I don't know the fancy word for it, feel free to help me out! I've flooded my workplace twice, well only once if you ask the manager!
Quick question, we've been invited to a naming day in May and I'm not sure what the score is with them as I've never been to one before. Is it a dressy-up thing? Do you take a gift just for the little one, or do the parents get one too? xx

dizzychixies · 20/03/2008 19:20

hi hazie

just treat it as a christening without the religious blessing in the church. When we had dd2 christened she was given a lovely bound copy of Winnie the Pooh stories, borders have a lovely Alice in Wonderland one just now too if that helps

no present required for parents though, its a naming day for baby not them
xx

HazieAndBaby · 20/03/2008 19:36

Thanks dizzy! I'll get hunting now, I'm so excited to be buying more things for little people now! I've never actually been to a christening apart from my own, but I was 2mths old so I can't remember much! I forgot to ask, are you still signed off work until your next appointment or is that you back now?

Argh, forgot to mention! I got measured again for a bra today (twice in 8wks! I'm scared!) and I'm now apparently a 30J! Someone is having a laugh, honestly! I was a 30F before all this pregnancy business. I've just read back on this and want to apologise for all the exclamation marks, but I'm in shock!! My poor bambino isn't going to know what I look like if I hold him/her at waist height! And I can forget about one of those cute baby slings! Sorry, rant over now.

PetitFilou1 · 20/03/2008 19:36

TS Have you telepathically transferred your rain over here? If so, could I politely ask that you take it back please? It is supposed to snow over the weekend. And the maternity shops are all stocking Summer stuff - I'm struggling to keep warm!

CC I've read that link before. Very funny especially if you are actually working somewhere like that - it is scarily near the truth of some things the Dept of Health has thought about if not actually done.

Very tired this evening. I have got a book for the dcs 'What is in mummy's tummy?' or something and it explains the baby is currently the size of a melon. Well it FEELS like it tonight!

PetitFilou1 · 20/03/2008 19:38

PS Hazie 30J blimey - I go up to an F when I'm feeding and for me that feels huge. You poor thing! No reason you can't put the bub in a sling though - it'd just be well cushioned!

VintageGardenia · 20/03/2008 19:39

Oh Buckets I want your life!

Hazie I'd be with dizzy on the naming thing, treat it as a christening & a token present for the baby (though if you've already given a present for the birth I don't think you have to go overboard on this) but not for the parents.

I spent a fortune today on 2 maternity things this but in solid black and white capri pants from here.

So it's beans on toast till the end of the month! If you could all say, regardless of what you think, that I have impeccable taste & could not live without these essential items, I'd be ever so grateful...

PetitFilou1 · 20/03/2008 19:48

Vintage
And I thought I was bad. So far I have bought two Isabella Oliver tops, two pairs of Seraphine jeans and another Seraphine top. Plus I bought a vest and a jumper from there today. Can't afford any of it - and it is my third so shouldn't be doing expensive! But I always think sod it I'm not looking like a sack for the next 5 + months (as I always end up wearing the stuff after the baby is born too - not one of these whippet thin girls who snaps back into shape even if I do get back to a size 12 eventually)
