Hello new people,

TMI warning aaah prisci, the joys of thrush...

I have been one of those unfortunate few to have almost constant thrush. I treat it about weekly but it always comes back. My hospital swab report said 'heavy yeast growth'. Which is even now making me feel sick. apparently it's super common in pregnancy, so I've never been worried about it but it's a bit of a pain in the fanny arse. TMI over

Other than that have been feeling a bit gripey, sort of pre-period feeling; loads of BH but still painless bar a single slightly sore one the other night which obviously whipped me into a frenzy of excitement, upon which I fell asleep for 8 hours and realised that babe probably not likely to arrive anytime soon... we are still decorating so wonder if I'm hanging on for that? Can't bear the thought of 3 more weeks of being pregnant though!!

My mum, who is still cooking and freezing tasty meals for me and DH for when the baby comes, has today told me that when she was pregnant her mum came over and did a huuuuuge thorough springclean of the house, and could she do the same for me? I think the phrase 'bit her hand off' applies. She's the tops.

merryberry · 21/02/2008 19:17

well i seem to have slept/rested myself into a reasonable state of non-event, not expecting progress much at this stage, no real contractions at all.

ds having mighty tantrums due to me being out for count today, taste of things to come?

hands very swollen like PG with ds1 in the summer. OUCH!

feedmenow · 21/02/2008 19:50

It's so funny reading everyones "wishful thinking" posts! As much as I would love to deny I am doing the same, and instead say "I'm happy for this baby to come whenever it is ready" I, too, am hopeful that every teeny twinge is the beginning!

Am really feeling the strain now though. Last day at work is next Thursday. Still need to finish wallpapering and painting baby's room before we can get all the baby stuff moved from the rest of the house into place. My Natures Nest arrived yesterday. We put it up and it is HUGE! If the baby came now before it's room is done, we just wouldn't have space in our room for the Nest! Really hope we can have a final push this weekend on the decorating.

Really wish I could have come to the meet up tomorrow but dd and ds are on half term. I have been really trying to spend some proper time actually DOING things with them before No. 3 arrives. As excited as I am, I alsoo feel a little bit sad that things will be different and that I will just have less time with each child

Anyway, dp has gone out so I plan to listen to my hypnobirthing CD tonight (haven't done so in weeks!)

Hope everyone else is having fun with their twinge spotting...

whathavewedone · 21/02/2008 20:14

I feel the same. Want to spoil my 2 girls with lots of quality time, make a start, and then say I'm just off to the loo, and they find me an hour later snoring in bed. I feel guilty but they're dealing with it pretty well.

Most evenings for the last week or so I've had about 1.5 hours of quite painful BHs - but then all goes away. Trying to ignore them, but it's not easy. Also feeling queasy most of the time - can this be a sign? Fingers crossed it is.

tori32 · 21/02/2008 20:43

LOL@ everyones wishing for baby posts. I have mentally psyched myself for it to be overdue by 2 wks so that any earlier will be a bonus .
DD was 5 days over so I am not holding my breath. Mum wants it to come on her dads (deceased) Birthday which is the 27th.

Hopefully no news is good news and lots of action on the labour/ birth fronts ..... very exciting and can't stop checking for news!

Oh, MTBTK and I are having a mini meetup on 27th Feb at 10am new cafe in Poole park first, then lunch. Anyone welcome who is close enough.

derah · 21/02/2008 21:46

Posting this on here as well as the meet-up thread... not sure what to do tomorrow....

My mum was supposed to be coming over tomorrow but now she's not so technically I'm free and would love to come to the meet-up. Buuuuuuut, not sure I could cope with London transport and 2.6 yo DD!! If Merryberry is bringing a toddler too, at least they could amuse each other (keeping DD entertained being my biggest worry about the whole idea).

I just don't knoooooooooow [wails]

Littleducks, are you bringing your LO?

Just don't want to be the only one there with a kid and have to leave after 20 mins because she's bored and trashing the place!

littleducks · 21/02/2008 22:00

Had decided not to (pretty much for the reasons you said!). How old is your lo, mine is 20 onths but very talkative and bossy! Just off to see on journey planner to see how long it will take then will lpet you know.

fitnfortyone · 21/02/2008 22:11

wow, after an exhausting day entertaining yesterday, i was knackered today!
Yesterday I had a friend round with her 7 wk old, lovely little girl and very well behaved. Then had my hair chopped into something more manageable by mobile hairdresser (so much better than having to struggle into town for a posh cut), then had lunch, then another couple of friends round for the rest of the afternoon until DH came home. Ankles were a little swollen, more BHs but no pains.
Today, didn't bother getting out of bed until 11, then went out for leisurely lunch with friend and her 1&abit yr old who's absolutely gorgeous. Came home and had a doze, followed by dinner and a relaxing hour or so in the birthing pool. Think i'll head off to bed now that Ashes to Ashes is over...
Not getting bored in the slightest with this maternity leave lark!

derah · 21/02/2008 22:28

Littleducks - mine is 2.6, and bossy too! But if there are two of them they can boss each other and that will keep them out of trouble for longer!

Keep me posted!

Merryberry - how are those BH of yours?

derah · 21/02/2008 22:43

OK, got my map printed just in case, so far I'll say probably yes... will check again for messages before I leave in the morning.

fitnfortyone · 21/02/2008 22:59

have a good meet up tomorrow ladies, no going into labour during it though!

littleducks · 22/02/2008 08:17

just a quick post, i am leaving in a min but wont be bringing dds as she didnt sleep well last night (woke up screaming she wanted MEAT in the middle of the night)

derah · 22/02/2008 08:41

Right, I'm just off too. Feeling brave!! I just hope DD doesn't get too bored. Sorry yours isn't coming Littleducks.

How are your BH this morning Merryberry?

doup76 · 22/02/2008 09:48

That reminds me fitnfortyone, I should get my hair cut too. All you ladies bored with ML, go and get your hair cut soon because who knows when you'll be able to once the baby comes!

I've been getting headaches the last couple of days and feeling pretty grouchy....almost like PMT.....

e14mum · 22/02/2008 10:16

Yawn... just waking up... looks like I won't be making the meet up today!
Hope you're all well. TBH, I do wish this baby would arrive soon, but I am enjoying the lie-ins...
Doup, good idea about getting a haircut. Might go for a manicure and wax soon- just because I can!

merryberry · 22/02/2008 10:45

no progress here. except developing monster right hand - blown up to half again normal size, bright red patch over most painful knuckle. can't really flex it at all. had this worse last time round, its some sort of water retention/autoimmune thing that no doc can be bothered with as first treatment is ibubrofen, whcih i can't take.

its very trying. hope it goes down tonight, often in comes and goes in waves.

lordy still no MM and SHH news?

e14mum · 22/02/2008 11:05

Oh merryberry, that sounds horrid. I haven't been able to get my rings on for about a week or so, but I don't even think that can come close to what you're experiencing. Big hugs your way!

monthlymayhem · 22/02/2008 11:41

Hope everyone is well.

Marchmum and SHH - all sounds very exciting, hope you're holding your LOs by now!

Officially started maternity leave on Wednesday and have been cleaning out cupboards, wardrobes and basically anything in sight. Plan is to try and get everything done in the house over the first week and then hopefully have time to relax for the rest of mat leave. I'm 36 +3 today, so if baby could be delivered to order, round about 39 weeks would be good for me please

I had a midwife appt on Tuesday and baby is engaged but only just at 4/5. My BP has increased though (140/91) so will be getting that checked again next week and hope it's not a problem. I'm glad other people have mentioned the sharp stabbing pains - I've been getting them too. They only last a split second, but feel like broken glass and are soooore!

I hope all those going to the meet up enjoy the coffee and cake!

turtle23 · 22/02/2008 14:12

Was nice to see everyone who made it to the meetup today, even if numbers weren't what they should have been!
Can't believe that the next meetup will be with babies!
Speaking of which...did we make it through a full moon/eclipse with nobody else going into labour?!!

Paranoid1stTimer · 22/02/2008 14:22

Hope everyone is enjoying their meet up! I feel like a total outsider on here sometimes boo hoo. Ah well, everyone always welcoming anyway!!!

mistyamica Hello! Thanks for the mention... I totally know what you are talking about.... Ow ow ow ow ow...

AdelaideJo I also know what you are talking about!!! I am a first timer too (obvioulsy from the name I guess) and I have had maybe 3 or 4 nights now where I have woken up feeling like my whole body is on fire like I have a fever or something, I usually end up crawling around outside the bedroom and into the bathroom to try not to wake OH as it always seems to pass - although at the time all I can think is "WHY didn't I just PACK the FEKKIN hospital bag?!?!?" Then it passes and I head back to bed with a painful "frou frou" and fall asleep in the hope that I wake in the morning back to "normal".

The Lightening Pains (or whatever they are called) seem to have settled a bit now and aren't so much bolts of stabbing up the lady passage and butthole as much as a general weight on the cervix and bladder now. LO seems to be too squashed to wriggle as much but when they do... boy does it hurt!!! I can only picture a pestle and mortar grinding away with the baby's head grinding on my cervix... OW OW OUCH! Pain-ful. Not as bad as make-u-stand-bolt-upright-in-the-middle-of-MacDonalds painful as the shooting stabbing pains I was getting. I spent a few days on the birth ball (should I say £3 yoga ball from Tesco that keeps deflating under my bouncing)...

Anyway, hope you are all coping too. LO is officially full term now since I am 37 weeks but MIL is totally trying to get me to look on it as a potential 5 weeks to the actual birth since 1. it's my first and 2. going over is really depressing!!! Great.... Ah well, we'll see. I don't mind being preggers right at this second since I am not in pain for the 5 mins it has taken to write this post.... As soon as the pain kicks in again I will be hoping every twinge is "it"....

turtle23 · 22/02/2008 14:47
