Hi all 👋🏻

Here's a new thread so we can keep chatting through the sleepless nights and the many outfits they've already grown out of... 😄

@Roxy8203 are you able to put him down after he falls asleep in you? We try and hit n miss if it'll work!!
Little one can be drinking away / sleeping in our arms and all of a sudden the crying stats! It's always short lived but hard to know what mid feed / sleep cry means!! Wish I had an instruction manual at times like this 🙈

@ShiningStarz yeah once he is asleep I can put him down although I love sleepy cuddles so am in no rush to. He's been a bit more upset and straining more which I think is part of the leap and learning how his body works. I think he'd like the manual as well

@Sara7455 I'm looking forward to the leap being over but I'm really starting to notice the change in him and how alert he is plus he' getting stronger everyday

Hey @Roxy8203 I just had to google the leap and learnt all about the wonder weeks!!! Never heard of it before.
DP brought her to bed at 1am fed and changed and she slept until about 2.30. The tears then started so I put her on my chest, fed her and she slept soundly on me! Tried to put her down when I knew she was totally out but was wriggling / kicking arms and legs and making lots of noise and eventually cried! So she's back on my chest, sound asleep and not moving at all. Love this stage too knowing our cuddles comfort them.

@ShiningStarz the wonderweeks app
Is very good. It lets you know when there is a change coming which I guess makes it easier for us to be prepared for it, not that there is much we can do but be ready for it.
I hope you manage to get some sleep

@Roxy8203 yes definitely more alert which is lovely. Think it makes sense that it’s why he’s not sleeping in the day as he’s so busy looking at everything. Really squawks if you put him in the Moses basket in the day and he can’t see anything! Have you got smiles yet? I keep thinking they’re coming but I don’t think we’re quite there.

I second the wonder weeks app! Several people have recommended it to me!

@Sara7455 no not got proper smiles, just windy ones but I cannot wait

Report
ShiningStarz · 05/10/2020 08:14

I can't wait for proper smiles either!!! Our little one smiles but it's reflexes rather than actual
Smiles!!! My friends daughter was born in March, she is 6.5 months now and has been proper giggling in hysterics for a while now!! It's so cute!!!

I held little one from 2-6 @Roxy8203 tried to set her down but she cried! She was burly and farty too, interested know if this is the 'wonder week week 5ish' or just formula not agreeing with her!! She did settle from 7-8 tho so I got an hr! Time to get a shower and let DP get to work! Thankfully he's working from home so he's got her now for a feed while I get a cuppa ☕️

@ShiningStarz my niece was born in March too and she’s the same, so cute at that age!

I’m not sure about @Roxy8203 but the leap week fussy is noticeably different to normal fussy I think - I kept wondering if it was starting early and now he’s Actually hit it it’s obviously the leap. He’s a lot more alert and seems to be actively trying to look at things not just crying for cuddles and feeds if that makes sense?

@ShiningStarz I'm finding white noise is really good, he zones out when it's on, settles him down and stops him crying, especially useful during nappy change. I just found it on YouTube.
Lucky week 5 leap only lasts a week and I'm looking forward to him being more responsive after.

@Sara7455 my little man is one month today. He smiled back at me about 4 days ago and my heart just melted. Sooo in love! He has smiled once or twice again since then, he never smiles at my DH though. Haha😃.
Was up for 6hrs straight last night, now sleeping all day today... I wish I could reset his body clock.

@WillowT is the wonderweeks app a free app?

Report
WillowT · 05/10/2020 22:19

@Smilymami no, it was £4. I never buy any apps but this was recommended so giving it a go. There are added extras after the initial payment but they are unnecessary in my opinion. Haven't explored it properly yet but will try feedback in a week or so :)

@WillowT @Smilymami I have wonderweeks and think it's a really good app, there is lots of information. My little boy is on a leap now. Before the leap there is a couple pages telling you what to expect and then during the leap there is a lot more info and videos etc. just make sure you input the babies due date and not their birth date

Smilymami · 06/10/2020 20:43

@Roxy8203 on Google play store, what I saw is "the wonder weeks vs 9", is this the correct app?

Hi ladies, another night feed post!

Just wondering how your c-section scars are looking?

Mine is still weepy and has raised red tissue (granulation?) around it. Baby is 3 weeks now!
I'm considering getting the GP to take a look.

My DP goes back to work in the morning! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. He's been so brilliant, I'm really going to miss him especially as we're still on local lockdown so I can't see/meet up with anyone else.

How is everyone doing?

I got the wonder weeks app and based on estimates due date we are about to experience her first leap! Will soon see.

@LatteLover12 I would definitely get that checked out. I'm a month post c section, I never had any weeping / redness. As soon as the dissolvable strip was removed on day 5, it was 100% fine. You probably need antibiotics.

I though covid made pregnancy hard!! Definitely challenging now with partners going back to work (lucky mine is working from home) and also not being to see anyone or do mummy baby classes 🙁 there's lots on zoom but not sure it's for me

@LatteLover12 I’d get it looked at for your own sanity just in case. Better to go and be told it’s fine than not go and have it get worse.

@ShiningStarz exciting you’re hitting the first leap! Totally agree Covid has made pregnancy hard. Zoom isn’t really for me either. It’s kind of sad as a lot of my friends have loads of Nct friends they made while pregnant and on mat leave and we’re missing out on all that. Glad we’ve got this group for someone to talk to at least!

Thanks ladies, I think I'm going to have to. Ugh. Who'd be a woman, eh?

Progress so far on my first morning solo... I'm dressed, baby is snoozing in his chair, DS's packed lunch is sorted. Go me!

@LatteLover12 that’s amazing work for first solo morning!

I‘d still see that as a success nearly two months down being on my own in the day!!
