HCG level at 4 weeks

I am 4 weeks 4 days (since my last period)
After already having 2 miscarriages in a row this year I am understandably worried.
Yesterday I went to my local EPU and had a blood test just to settle my mind. I have no pain, no bleeding and nothing that makes me think I could suffer a 3rd miscarriage.
I wish I never went now as my HCG levels have come back at 82!
Is this normal, has anybody had a level so low and continued to have a healthy pregnancy? I'm back tomorrow for a second blood test but I am on pins, hoping they have doubled and just need some reassurance. Thanks in advance.

It various massively from woman to woman, what matters more is how it increases. At 5 weeks mine was 14,500 which was astronomical, but from what I read at the time, it can be as low as 20 at 4 weeks and run into the thousands, there's no real normal. Fingers crossed the results tomorrow x

Yours sound normal. I was at 92 at 4 weeks. Now 9 weeks along. Best of luck!

With my son I was over 5 weeks (can’t remember exactly how far along) and mine were 77. They doubled as they should and he’s now 2 years old. I know it’s worrying- I’m pregnant again and mine were 120 At 5 weeks, and over doubled as hoped 48 hours later.

they will be looking at how much they increase so please don’t worry right now that the number seems low as levels really vary massively person to person, I hope everything is ok for you x

Thankyou. I've brought all this worry on myself. I was only due on Friday 29th and tested positive with a first response on the same day. I continuelly tested all weekend to see if the line got stronger which it did.
I then tested with a clear blue digital on Monday and it said in words not pregnant.
I panicked and convinced myself it would happen again so went for a blood test yesterday.
Last night I read that clear blue digital picks up HCG levels from 25 so this has made me feel a little better as it's shows that obviously my HCG levels had gone from below 25 up to 82 in 2 days.
I wish I never did that clear blue it's actually ruined my week. Lol.

I should also mention, that with my first miscarriage my levels were 505 at 5 weeks.
So I super panicked when the lady on the phone said 82 x

It probably won’t make you feel better but I waited until I was 10 days late with my son to even get a positive, I knew I was pregnant- then when I had hcg done and it was 77 I was literally convinced it wasn’t good news. It’s so hard to know, pregnancy is stressful and so unknown especially in the early days, let us know how you get on tomorrow x

It has gone up to 193. Brilliant news so relieved. Got to go back on Monday for another and then they will leave me a little bit for a scan xx

I started bleeding early hours this morning while I was in work 😩 I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow. Just like brown thick discharge when I wiped. I'm trying not to worry but this is how it started both times x

Hi, the brown turned to red but only when I wiped. And it happened twice yesterday.
It hasn't happened since yesterday at 2pm
Up to now I'm feeling quite positive, all I've done is worry all week and I've decided I'm no longer going to worry about something which is out of my control. I'm just hoping the bleed was nothing and my HCG levels have doubled again x

My levels have only gone up by 17 so need to go first thing for a scan to check my tubes. X

Unfortunately something can be seen in my right tube - it also could be a cyst but as the sonographer said, there is no sign of a baby ever being in my womb. Now have to sit and wait until Friday for further tests xx

Oh goodness I’m so sorry you’re going through this, I just can’t believe how worrying the early stages of pregnancy can be :( I have an appointment today as I have been bleeding, not feeling too hopefully to be honest.

Will be thinking about you and hope that it’s not ectopic and that they have answers for you Friday xx

It's awful isn't it. 3rd time this year we have concieved and won't result in a baby.
Makes you want to give up and never try again. Good luck, I hope everything works out for you xx

Don’t give up hope, I had a Mmc before I had my DD, I waited 4 years to fall pregnant (Had actually been referred for IVF as it just wasn’t happening) then I fell pregnant and the pregnancy was the most anxious I have ever been, I then had another mc before falling pregnant with my DS.

I’m sure after 3 miscarriages you can have investigations to see if there is anything you need help with, which I know isn’t a nice thought but they may be able to give you answers as to why this has happened and come up with a plan to help you. I can’t imagine having so many losses and so close together and my heart goes out to you xx
